UNLV WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TO HOST CAL STATE LA WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Lady Rebels’ only exhibition contest of the season scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Cox Pavilion

The UNLV women’s basketball team will host its only exhibition game of the 2021-22 season on Wednesday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Cox Pavilion against Cal State LA.
Predicted to finish third in the Mountain West this season in the preseason poll, the Lady Rebels return four student-athletes from last year’s team, including two starters. The team also welcomes eight newcomers.
Sophomore center Desi-Rae Young was named to the 2021-22 Preseason All-MW Team in October. The Las Vegas product, who attended Desert Oasis HS, is the reigning MW Freshman of the Year after averaging 11.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals per contest during the 2020-21 season, turning in double-figure scoring efforts in a total of 16 games. She also led the Lady Rebels in scoring and field-goal percentage (51%).
UNLV head coach Lindy La Rocque earned the conference’s Coach of the Year Award following the 2020-21 campaign and is in her second year leading the program.
Some of the notable newcomers for the Lady Rebels this season include senior forward Khayla Rooks, who transferred from Washington, junior guard Essence Booker, who is from Las Vegas and transferred from Ball State by way of UNR, and freshman guard Kiara Jackson, who is from Grand Prairie, Texas.
TICKETS: Admission to the exhibition game is free for UNLV students and all kids in high school and younger. High school students must show school I.D. Adult tickets are $6 each when purchased in advance of gameday and $10 on the day of the game. Season tickets, which include all Lady Rebel home games, and single-game tickets for the 2021-22 season are on sale as well. REGULAR SEASON STARTS NOV. 9: The Lady Rebels’ regular season starts on the road at Oral Roberts on Tuesday, November 9. The home opener is set for Saturday, November 13 at 1 p.m. vs. Montana State at Cox Pavilion.
