Boyd Gaming Sparks Joy This Holiday Season
Awarding Nearly $70,000 to “Wreaths of Hope” Winners
Boyd Gaming wrapped up its ninth annual decorating competition, “Wreaths of Hope,” with nearly $70,000 in total funds being awarded to 38 non-profits across the Las Vegas Valley.
This year’s beloved holiday competition marked the largest number of participating charities and wreaths displayed at Boyd Gaming destinations including: Aliante, The Orleans, Gold Coast, Jokers Wild, Suncoast, Sam’s Town, Cannery and Main Street Station. In addition, the Company welcomed 16 new charities competing for the first time this year.
From November 20 through December 15, the public voted for their favorite charity’s wreaths at each of the participating properties or online through Boyd Gaming’s social media platforms. Following the voting tabulation, each of the eight properties awarded funds from a prize pool of up to $8,500. First, second and third place winners were awarded a larger cash prize with a guaranteed minimum donation of $1,000 for all other participants.
More than 38,000 in-person votes were tabulated in addition to the 17,000 online votes cast through the Wreaths of Hope social media contest. An additional prize pool of $5,000 was awarded to the top three performing charities in the social media competition, with a $2,500 first-place prize, $1,500 second-place prize, and $1,000 third-place prize.
