REGISTRATION OPEN NOW FOR DRAWING US TOGETHER VISUAL ARTS EXHIBIT/COMPETITION FOR 6th THROUGH 12th GRADE STUDENTS
This spring as part of Action for the Arts®, the International House of Blues Foundation® (IHOBF)-Las Vegas invites 6th through 12th grade students to participate in Drawing Us Together, a visual arts exhibit and competition, and create original artworks inspired by the 2012 theme: The Arts Inspire Hope. In creating their artworks, students are encouraged to consider how the arts can inspire hope in challenging times and difficult circumstances.
“Drawing Us Together celebrates the importance of the arts in community life and also creates opportunities for students to exhibit their artistic works,” said IHOBF-Las Vegas Program Manager Laura Clark
Registration is now open and will end Friday, April 13 at 5 p.m. A panel of judges will select first and second place winners, who will receive gifts certificates for art supplies. Winners’ artworks also may be used in the design of an IHOBF Action for the Arts retail product, with all proceeds from sales supporting arts programs for local youth. The works of participating artists will be featured during an exhibit at House of Blues Las Vegas and showcased online at www.actionforthearts.org.
