LEGENDARY HOUSE OF BLUES TO REOPEN
RESTAURANT & BAR WITH LIVE MUSIC JULY 1

Special “Get Some, Give Some” Dining Program Will Support Community Through Meal-Matching Campaign with Project 150

House of Blues Restaurant & Bar Las Vegas, known for its renowned combination of a made-from-scratch, southern-inspired menu; handcrafted drinks; and spectacular live music, will reopen at Mandalay Bay for dine in, takeout and delivery beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. The restaurant and bar will offer all of its signature dishes and drinks along with live acoustic performances for guests to enjoy during their dining experience.

“Combined with a musical experience featuring some great local artists, we’re hoping to create a welcome return to a bit of excellent food and entertainment that everyone has been missing,” said House of Blues General Manager Will Hodgson.

Putting its beloved community at the forefront, House of Blues will celebrate its return with the launch of the “Get Some, Give Some” meal-matching campaign to aid in the battle against hunger. For every single entrée purchased for dine in, takeout or delivery, House of Blues will provide one meal to Project 150, whose mission is to provide support and services to homeless, displaced and disadvantaged high school students so they can remain in school, graduate and build bright futures. Through this philanthropic campaign, House of Blues hopes to provide hundreds of meals to youth in need in their community.

Hodgson added, “This has been such a difficult time these past few months, not just for our city but for communities everywhere. Our ‘Get Some, Give Some’ campaign will help feed our neighborhoods through our partnership with Project 150. Needed now more than ever, Project 150 does amazing work for our community; and together, we hope to be able to get meals to those struggling.”

House of Blues has implemented all necessary protocols to ensure the safety, security and well-being of guests and employees. This includes reduced capacity, touchless hand sanitizer dispensers, physical distancing, employee temperature checks, increased cleaning and sanitizing, and much more. About Sum 41
In the late summer of 2018, Sum 41 front man, Deryck Whibley, stepped off the tour bus after three solid years of worldwide touring, turned on the console in his home studio, picked up a guitar, and started pouring out song after song. Feeling incredibly inspired from 2016’s critically-acclaimed, Europe Impala Gold certified, No. 9 Billboard Top Albums charting, 13 Voices album and touring cycle, Whibley feverishly started putting together songs from the cascade of ideas flying throughout his mind. Relentless touring and immense energy from some of the largest crowds the band had ever played in front of bred a multitude of ideas that Whibley had stockpiled and couldn’t wait to record. Within three weeks, the majority of the music for the new album, Order In Decline was written.

After more than 15 million records sold worldwide, a GRAMMY Award nomination, two Juno Awards, a Kerrang! Award in 2002, as well as multiple Alternative Press Music Awards, Sum 41 is quite simply a rock band – uncompromising and honest with no intention of slowing down. Sum 41 consists of five members including Deryck Whibley, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Dave Brownsound, co-lead guitarist/backing vocalist Tom Thacker, bassist/backing vocalist Cone McCaslin and drummer Frank Zummo.

About Deep Purple
With a body of work spanning seven decades, Deep Purple has helped pioneer and define the hard rock genre while progressively moving into new areas to keep their sound fresh and attract new fans to the legions who have remained loyal since the band’s inception. Known as one of the hardest working bands ever, Purple has released six studio albums since 1996 alone and has toured globally since forming in 1968 with little rest. In 2007 (almost 40 years after being formed) the band performed 40 dates in France to an audience of 150,000 while this summer, across the US and Canada, the band partnered with fellow hard rockers Judas Priest embarking on a wildly successful 25 city tour.

Purple has stayed true to its musical roots taking from an eclectic mix of styles to create a distinctive sound that defines the band today, but which in turn, has created a legacy that very few bands could ever hope to replicate. The band has written and produced so many classic songs that its audience ranges widely in age and background, something the band has embraced and caters to, with its concert set lists. Having sold more than 100 million albums and filled global arenas for decades, its little wonder respected British radio station Planet Rock named the group the 5th Most Influential Band Ever, while VH1 ranked them No. 22 on its Greatest Artists of Hard Rock list. Additionally, Deep Purple was given the Legend Award at the 2008 World Music Awards and, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

About Angels & Airwaves
Tom DeLonge, a founding member of seminal pop punk band Blink-182, formed Angels & Airwaves in 2005. A year later came debut album We Don’t Need To Whisper, which hit No. 4 on Billboard’s Top 200 and featured the Top 5 modern rock hit “The Adventure.” 2007’s I-Empire followed, hitting No. 9 on Billboard’s Top 200 and featured rock radio hit “Everything’s Magic.” In 2010, Angels & Airwaves released Love and a year later, Love: Part Two accompanied by a critically acclaimed film, “Love,” which was shown in 460 theaters nationwide during a one-night film screening and live-streamed concert event titled “Love Live.” The band’s last full-length album was 2014’s The Dream Walker, which hit No. 1 on iTunes and No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums chart. A multimedia project, the album was accompanied by a graphic novel, comic books and a Blade Runner-meets Harry Potter short film, which won Best Animation at the Toronto International Short Film Festival. “Rebel Girl” followed 2016’s Chasing Shadows EP, which was released alongside “Sekret Machines,” a novel DeLonge co-wrote with New York Times bestselling author A.J. Hartley.

About New Found Glory
Hailing from Coral Springs, Florida, punk-pop band New Found Glory was formed in mid-1997. The bandmates wasted little time amassing a cult following, eventually rising to the upper tier of punk-pop music alongside Good Charlotte, Saves the Day, and other Warped Tour-affiliated bands. A high-profile tour with blink-182 and an appearance in teen flick, “American Pie 2,” helped increase New Found Glory’s exposure. Summer of 2002’s Sticks and Stones propelled by the hit single “My Friends Over You,” help snag New Found Glory a headlining spot for the Warped Tour while their album climbed to gold certification. After the tour and its resulting hype, the band released 2004’s Catalyst, which peaked at number three on Billboard’s Top 200, driven in part by the success of “All Downhill from Here.” In 2014, New Found Glory delivered Resurrection, which found them diving into their punk roots with a renewed sense of purpose. The album was re-released in 2015 as Resurrection: Ascension, featuring two new studio tracks and a reworked version of “Vicious” with Paramore’s Hayley Williams. In 2017, New Found Glory celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of their ninth album, Makes Me Sick, featuring the singles “Happy Being Miserable” and “Party on Apocalypse.”

About OMD
Over the course of four decades, OMD has sold an astonishing 25 million singles and 15 million albums. Best known for their hit song “If You leave,” OMD has established themselves as electronic synthesizer pioneers and one of Britain’s best-loved pop groups. Their 13 long players include soon-to-be-reissued classics Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (1980), Organisation (1980), Architecture & Morality (1981), and Dazzle Ships (1983). Three more since their reactivation have culminated in 2017’s The Punishment Of Luxury, which was hailed as a return to the shimmering brilliance of classic early singles such as “Enola Gay” and “Souvenir.”

OMD has a sense of semi-classical grandeur. The nuances of their music demonstrate how, for all their hits, they have simultaneously remained uncompromising and innovative over successive decades. Sounds and production techniques which OMD were using in 1980 have become part of the fabric of how today’s pop is made. But, while OMD can rightly take their place in the lineage of electronic pop pioneers that stretches from Kraftwerk to Gary Numan, from the Human League to, much later Underworld and Orbital – and a key influence on current acts from The XX to Chvrches – there is always a warmth and wistful emotional quality to their songs that has consistently made them different.

In today’s OMD, Stuart Kershaw (who has worked with the band in various capacities since 1991) replaces long-time drummer Malcolm Holmes, alongside keyboardist/saxophonist Martin Cooper, but throughout their 40 years of OMD, founders Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys have retained and rekindled the friendship that blossomed as teenagers, and the inspiration that strikes when they’re together.

Taking Back Sunday commemorates 20th anniversary with a two-night performance at House of Blues Las Vegas

HOUSE OF BLUES WELCOMES:

Taking Back Sunday

May. 4 – 5, 2019

WHAT:
Taking Back Sunday commemorates their 20th anniversary with a two-night performance at House of Blues on Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 2019.

If you can’t believe that Taking Back Sunday has been around for 20 years, you’re not alone, because they can’t either. Although the pride of Long Island has had a handful of member changes over the years, the current lineup of the band – vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, drummer Mark O’Connell and bassist Shaun Cooper – have all been there since the beginning. From the band’s landmark 2002 debut Tell All Your Friends to their most recent full-length, 2016’s Tidal Wave, Taking Back Sunday has evolved from a key player in the early 2000s emo scene to a genre-defying rock band never ceasing to push the limitations of their sound.

As part of this year-long fête, Taking Back Sunday will embark on an extensive worldwide tour, paying tribute to their catalog – and their fans – with full album performances. The band will be performing their debut album Tell All Your Friends in its entirety. Each night will offer a double-album play – using a specially designed coin, Taking Back Sunday will flip to play either Where You Want To Be or Louder Now, in addition to Tell All Your Friends. In conjunction with the tour, Taking Back Sunday will also be releasing a special career (to date)-spanning compilation titled, Twenty. The 21-song collection is set for release on Jan. 11, 2019, and will span all seven of their full-length albums.

WHEN:
Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 2019
Doors: 6:45 p.m.
Show: 7:45 p.m.
Ages: All Ages

Tickets for Taking Back Sunday start at $35, plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. PT. Follow House of Blues Las Vegas on Twitter for presale information @HOBLasVegas.
