More than 300 firefighters, police officers, EMTs and military personnel will climb 1,455 steps at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower, the tallest observation tower in the United States, on Thursday, Sept. 11, in tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Now in its 6th year, the annual Tower Climb will unite first responders and their families in remembrance, resilience and community spirit. The event will begin with an Honor Guard presentation at 8 a.m., followed by the start of the climb at 8:30 a.m. Las Vegas firefighters will participate in full gear, and each climber will wear a lanyard with the photo and name of a fallen first responder. At the top of the tower, participants will have a moment to reflect before gathering at PT’s Wings & Sports to raise a glass in remembrance of the brave individuals who lost their lives on that day.

Proceeds from the Tower Climb will benefit charitable organizations including Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports families of fallen and injured first responders and service members; Southern Nevada Burn Foundation, which assists burn survivors and promotes fire prevention education; and Vegas Fire and Rescue Charitable Association, which provides aid to local firefighters and their families in times of need.

The annual event honors the service and sacrifice of first responders on 9/11 and provides an opportunity for the community to remember them together.
