Madame Tussauds Unveils Environmentally Friendly Leonardo DiCaprio Figure

MADAME TUSSAUDS UNVEILS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY LEONARDO DICAPRIO FIGURE

Last night (Thursday, June 14), Madame Tussauds Las Vegas located at The Venetian unveiled a wax figure of Golden Globe winner and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio. In honor of the actor’s dedication to the environment, the figure’s head was created from natural clay and beeswax materials containing organic pigment. All design materials used in the creation of the figure were recycled upon completion and the production process took place exclusively by hand and daylight. Even more, the team that created the figure made an active effort to use environmentally friendly forms of transportation such as cycling and public transportation to get to and from the studio.

At the unveiling, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas General Manager Rosita Chapman spoke of DiCaprio’s environmental activism, including the creation of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, as well as the attraction’s efforts to make the figure environmentally friendly.

“Leonardo DiCaprio is a highly committed environmentalist, receiving praise from multiple environmental groups for his activism,” remarked Chapman. “Given all of this, we felt it only fitting to ensure that his figure was created in an environmentally friendly fashion.”
