About Mountain’s Edge
Mountain’s Edge, a place steeped in history, played a significant role in the Old West and the early days of Las Vegas. The lure of the Gold Rush of 1849 drew Americans westward, many of whom traversed the Spanish Trail. This trail, which was later converted into a wagon road, was a crucial route for pioneers heading to California for supplies. Interestingly, this historic Spanish Trail ran just a mile north of Mountain’s Edge, adding to the area’s unique historical significance.

The mining industry was a major catalyst for the influx of Americans into Las Vegas. This trend continues to this day, albeit in a different form. Above-ground mining operations are still active, but instead of silver or lead, miners are now extracting gypsum. This mineral is used to make wallboards for the construction of new homes, a testament to the city’s evolving needs and industries.

Las Vegas grew into the city it is today with the construction of the San Pedro, Los Angeles, & Salt Lake Railroad. The last spike completing this railroad was driven at Sutor Siding, only a few miles southeast of Mountain’s Edge.

Today, Mountain’s Edge is a bustling community with over 12,500 homes, three parks, and plenty of amenities! Everyday Mountain’s Edge strives to add more value to the community through continuous growth, resident-forward lifestyle events, and steady maintenance of our grounds.
