The UNLV baseball team (7-15, 3-6 MW) will hit the road this weekend for a three-game Mountain West series against the Air Force Falcons (10-16, 4-5 MW) beginning Friday at 12 p.m. (PT). The series will continue Saturday morning at 11 a.m. (PT) and the finale is slated for Sunday at 11 a.m. (PT).

Air Force comes into this weekend’s series after a 2-3 week, dropping a three-game series to San Diego State, 2-1, over the weekend, and splitting a two-game series with Kansas State held Tuesday and Wednesday.

UNLV comes into this weekend after dropping three games to Fresno State last weekend, two of which occurred in extra innings, and falling to Arizona State Tuesday evening at the Las Vegas Ballpark.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
– UNLV and Air Force have squared off a total of 157 times with the first-ever meeting taking place in 1969. The Hustlin’ Rebels own the advantage in the all-time series, 133-44. However, the Falcons have won four of the last seven, including sweeping the Scarlet & Gray in Colorado last season and defeating UNLV in the Mountain West Tournament by a score of 5-2.

ON DECK
UNLV will return to the friendly confines of Earl E. Wilson Stadium for a non-conference contest against GCU on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:05 p.m., before hosting UNR for a three-game series set to begin Thursday, April 6 at 6:05 p.m.

– Santino Panaro and Paul Myro IV both have a four-game hitting streak.
– Alex Pimentel has a five-game streak for runs scored.

HUSTLIN‘ REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARD
– Reese Lueck received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the Freshman of the Week following UNLV’s perfect opening weekend February 20.

– The Hustlin’ Rebels rank second in the conference in batting average at .279. They also rank second in the conference in runs scored (167), RBIs (140), triples (8) and in slugging percentage (.418). They rank third in hits (224), and fourth in doubles (42) and home runs (18).
– Jacob Sharp leads the MW in on base + slugging percentage (1.204), ranks second in batting average (.397) and in home runs (6), is tied for third in HBP (4), is tied for sixth in runs scored (20) and is tied for seventh in hits (27).
– Pimentel is tied for second in the conference in triples (3) and for HBP (5), is tied for third in walks (15), sits fifth for on base percentage (0.463) and is tied for seventh in batting average (.333).
– Austin Kryszczuk leads the conference in sacrifice flies (4), is tied for third in walks (15) and is tied for seventh in runs scored (19).
– Rylan Charles is tied for second in HBP (5), is tied for third in triples (2), ranks fifth in at bats (99) and is tied for seventh in hits (27).
– Edarian Williams ranks third in the conference in stolen bases with seven and is tied for seventh in at bats (93).
– Myro leads the conference in HBP (6).
