REBELS RETURN TO HOUSTON FOR MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS

The annual MW competition is being held Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 21-24, on the campus of the University of Houston

The UNLV women’s swimming and diving team returns to the Lone Star State for the Mountain West Championships, which will be held at the University of Houston’s CRWC Natatorium from Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 21-24.

 

The meet opens with Wednesday’s events, including the 1-meter diving prelims at 10:00 a.m. PT and the 1-meter finals in between two relay events in the opening finals session at 4 p.m. PT. All subsequent event prelims are set to start at 8:30 a.m. PT ahead of the finals sessions scheduled for 4 p.m. PT from Thursday through Saturday.

REBELS ATOP THE MOUNTAIN WEST: Leading the Rebel women with multiple Mountain West-leading times this season is senior Blanka Bokros in the 100 fly (53.07) and 200 fly (1:57.09). Adding their own mark atop the MW time charts on the year are senior Ruby Howell in the 200 IM (1:59.72), sophomore Erika Carlson in the 500 free (4:46.53) and freshman Fernanda Mendez Guerra in the 100 free (49.18).

DIVING LEADERS: Standing atop the Scarlet & Gray diving scoreboard, senior Vika Yanovska has team-best scores in the 1-meter (287.70), 3-meter (307.28) and on platform (200.00).
