Santana Singer Andy Vargas To Perform in House of Blues Foundation Room New Year’s Eve

Andy Vargas, currently one of two lead singers performing with Carlos Santana in his resident House of Blues show, An Intimate Evening with Santana, Greatest Hits Live, Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, and on tour, will perform for New Year’s Eve in House of Blues® Foundation Room. Vargas, also a DJ and percussionist, is bringing his new group, A Deeper Shade of Soul, a collective of musicians, video artists, and DJ’s, to the nightclub located on Mandalay Bay’s 43rd Floor, and promises to offer a new spin to New Year’s Eve with their club grooves, new electronics, original video art, and remixes of old funk and soul songs. Other members of A Deeper Shade of Soul include Chuck Prada and guitarist Michael Sanders.

Vargas has been performing with Santana since 2000. He began performing with his father’s mariachi band in Watsonville, California at age seven, and worked with Maria Conchita Alonzo on her latest album.

Recently, Vargas has been writing and recording original compositions, collaborating with other artists, and his music follows in the Santana tradition of combining musical ideas from multiple cultures and genres.

Foundation Room is taking reservations now for General Admission packages that include an open bar beginning at 8pm on December 31st and is valid until the close of business. Other packages include Patio Packages that include bottle service and a table on the patio overlooking the Las Vegas Strip with view of the Fireworks, inside Lounge Packages, and Dining Packages with a choice of two Seatings at 6pm or 9pm.

Santana returns to House of Blues to continue his residency in January, with three weeks of shows that begin January 19th, and another set of shows scheduled for May 2013.
