GOTTI FAMILY MOB ENFORCER JOHN ALITE TO GIVE AUTHOR TALK AT THE MOB MUSEUM THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10

Author Talk About the Gotti Crime Family to Begin at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, September 10, John Alite will present an Author Talk at The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Alite collaborated with George Anastasia to publish the book “Gotti’s Rules: The Story of John Alite, Junior Gotti and the Demise of the American Mafia” and has 25 years of insider knowledge about the Gotti family from his career in organized crime.

“Gotti’s Rules” tells the story of Alite’s involvement with the Gotti family. Alite describes the Gottis as a “dysfunctional group of Mafia misfits” but acknowledges he isn’t innocent in his work for the American Mob. Alite worked with the family as a Mob enforcer and business partner during the 1980s and 1990s until he fled the country in 2003 to escape prosecution. One year later, Alite was captured and turned against the Gotti family, testifying as a government witness in several trials against John Gotti’s son, Junior Gotti.

This Author Talk is free with Museum admission and free for Museum Members. For more information, go to www.TheMobMuseum.org or call (702) 229-2734.

About John Alite
John Alite was a Mob enforcer for the Gotti family turned government witness. While working for John Gotti’s family, Alite committed violent acts and earned millions of dollars in racketeering. He lived lavishly across the world but later fled the country until being captured and asked to testify against the family that once employed him. Upon being released from prison in 2012, Alite collaborated with George Anastasia to publish “Gotti’s Rules: The Story of John Alite, Junior Gotti and the Demise of the American Mafia.” Alite chose to decline participation in the Witness Protection Program and now resides in New Jersey.

Every May through September, Fremont Street Experience transforms Downtown Las Vegas into the hottest place to be with the annual Rock of Vegas summer concert series; one of the most popular summertime events in Las Vegas featuring rockin’ nightly entertainment, free headliner concerts and Viva Vision shows.

Kansas
Kansas has spent than four decades as a part of the soundtrack of the lives of multiple generations. The band has produced eight gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show) and a million-selling gold single, “Dust in the Wind.” Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the ’70s and ’80s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. “Carry On Wayward Son” was the #2 most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to #1 in 1997. The band, which is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, and original guitarist Richard Williams, continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.

Blue Oyster Cult
For over four decades, Blue Oyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. The band from Long Island, NY is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Oyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success. Upon the release of BOC’s self--titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy yet heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BOC’s hits include “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s Agents of Fortune, the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s Spectres and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin. BOC still maintains a relentless touring schedule that brings new songs and classics to fans from all over.

KISS Night In Las Vegas IV At Counts Vamp’d Rock Bar and Grill – Great Performers For A Great Cause – imagine4kids.org

vampdkissnight

What a party is gonna happen in Las Vegas on Saturday August 29th. Benefitting Imagine4Kids.org you will find the best Vegas has to offer at Counts Vamp’d Rock Bar that night. Rockin’ For A Cause!!!

A non-profit project founded to raise awareness and funding for struggling public school music departments.

http://www.kissnight.org/
https://www.facebook.com/KissNightInLasVegas
https://twitter.com/kissnightvegas

KISS Night in Las Vegas was started by four guys with a HUGE addiction to KISS and and an even bigger passion for helping children learn how the power of music can change their lives.

Talk of the night began between K Caruso and Stoney Curtis as just getting together at an open mic night and jamming some KISS songs. While having the conversation it was thrown out that this should be an entire evening and collect money to give to charity. It was as if lightning struck and KISS Night was born!

In It’s first three years, KISS Night in Las Vegas raised over $30,000 for Imagine, which is a local Las Vegas charity that supplies musical instruments to schools within the Clark County School District. We’re hoping to crush the past years numbers this year.

http://imagine4kids.org/
https://www.facebook.com/Imaginefoundation

Imagine is a non-profit corporation created to help fund the music departments of Clark County Schools in Las Vegas.

In the current economic climate in our city, as in most cities; when budgets are being trimmed and/or cut, the funds for the arts are oftentimes the first to be cut or completely eliminated. Most public schools have the grand challenge of thinking outside the box on a regular basis in order to keep the art programs alive for their students, let alone in an economic downturn. We feel the need as a community to reach out to these kids to make sure they are able to keep these programs intact. One of the ways Imagine is helping these students is to hold a musical event once a year to showcase local talent as well as bring in some well-known acts and ask for gently used or new instruments as well as monetary donations to benefit schools around the Las Vegas Valley. Imagine is now a 501 (c) (3) NP corporation which allows for federal tax exemption, enabling us to obtain larger donations which translate to more support for our kids. We believe every child should have the opportunity to follow their passion and Imagine is here to help with that. The support from our community as well as the Las Vegas music community has been nothing short of magical! We look forward to the growth of Imagine and God willing, hopefully other communities will follow suit … Imagine that!

The “2016 Miss America Competition” To Broadcast Live on Sunday,
September 13th from Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on the ABC Television Network

The Miss America Organization, dick clark productions and ABC announced today that wife of the late U.S. Navy SEAL “American Sniper” Chris Kyle and author, Taya Kyle, entrepreneur and businessman of ABC’s “Shark Tank,” Kevin O’Leary and 2014 Paralympic snowboarding bronze medalist and motivational speaker, Amy Purdy will be judges on the “2016 Miss America Competition.”  They join previously announced judge and country star Brett Eldredge. The “2016 Miss America Competition” returns to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 (9:00 – 11:00p.m./ET) on the ABC Television Network. The evening will be filled with glitz and glam as 52 women compete for the coveted crown and scholarship.

For the first time in Miss America history, fans have the opportunity to cast their vote entirely on social media for America’s Choice. The winner of America’s Choice will move forward to the Top 15 in the competition. Fans can vote on both Facebook and Twitter by posting a status and/or tweet with the name of the state they are voting for and the hashtag #MissAmericaVote. “The Miss America Organization provides millions of dollars in annual college scholarship assistance making it the largest scholarship program for women in the United States,” said Kyle. “I am honored to be a part of an organization that not only helps the contestants but their communities and children as well. The women who compete in this program contribute tens of thousands of community service hours annually and have raised over $10 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Miss America scholarships.”

“The Miss America Title is a remarkable platform and an extraordinary opportunity for any woman that is awarded it,” said O’Leary. “As a judge, I’ll be looking for the woman that can best articulate how she will use this opportunity to advance a charity that will help others and/or build a business that will employ Americans, and above all use the title to encourage other young women to do the same. There is a reason that The Miss America Organization has been around since 1921 – it has helped young women make a difference for multiple generations. I’m very proud to be involved.”

“Miss America celebrates strong women who are passionate about serving as an advocate for their communities and strive to make a positive impact,” said Purdy. “I’m honored to be part of an organization with such a long and dedicated history of giving back.”
