BOULDER STATION

Boulder Blues
Gary Hoey
Venue: The Railhead
Genre: Blues
Date: Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 at 6 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $5 cover at the door
Artist Info: Neon Highway Blues, Gary’s latest release, carries its 11 tracks with the confidence and assuredness of a veteran, and the freshness of someone who’s still in the process of discovery and refinement — with the help of famous friends such as Eric Gales, Lance Lopez, Josh Smith and Hoey’s 17-year-old son Ian Hoey. The release of Neon Highway Blues will, of course, take Gary Hoey back on the highways and byways for plenty of touring and playing, well, the blues — and more. He can’t yet predict where the next road will take him, but Hoey is confident it will be an adventure.

With a collection of 21 albums, it’s no wonder Gary Hoey is listed as one of the top 100 guitarists of all time.  The world renowned rock guitarist’s first break came in 1987 when Ozzy Osbourne liked Hoey’s tape enough to fly him to LA for an audition and encouraged him to move to the west coast. In 1990, Hoey was signed to Reprise Records with a short-lived band called Heavy Bones, but followed up in 1993 with a solo album and Gary’s cover of “Hocus Pocus” rocketed into the Billboard’s Top 5 Rock Tracks.  He went on to score the successful Endless Summer II soundtrack for New Line Cinema and in 1995 started a trilogy of “Ho!Ho! Hoey,” a collection of instrumental Christmas classics that continues each year in his Rockin’ Holiday shows.

Whether he’s playing scorching originals or classic rock covers, his solos are thrilling and reminiscent of Clapton or Stevie Ray in their fiery youth. One thing that remains consistent is Hoey’s impassioned command of the guitar. He can attack his instrument with feral intensity and then play something very soft and achingly beautiful. This ability to mix feeling, phrasing, technique and tone is the true mark of a master guitarist.

His lip- curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into the mainstream as one of MTV’s first megastars, making him one of the most recognizable faces in pop music, while selling out arenas everywhere he played. He has sold 40 million albums while scoring numerous platinum albums worldwide, nine top 40 singles in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K. including “Dancing With Myself,” “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Mony Mony,” “Eyes Without A Face,” “Flesh For Fantasy” and “Cradle Of Love.”

Idol was responsible for some of punk rock’s most memorable, literate and evocative moments, and created a pioneering new sound by bringing the spirit of ’77 to the dance floor, going on to fashion an immediately identifiable musical blueprint that integrates club-land throb, rockabilly desperation and rock ’n’ roll decadence.

More than 30 years after his groundbreaking Vital Idol compilation cemented the vibrancy of the dance-rock remix genre in the second half of the 1980s, Idol’s Revitalized collection, Vital Idol: Revitalized, features 11 brand-new remixes of Idol’s most classic and enduring hits. Lending their hands to the Revitalized proceedings are electronic dance luminaries Moby, The Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfold as well as current innovators including RAC, Tropkillaz, Shiba San, Juan Maclean and CRAY.

Chase Rice
Venue: Sandbar Poolside Stage
Genre: Country
Date: Friday, Oct. 25, 2019 at 7 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $20 plus tax and applicable fees for standing room only and $50 plus tax and applicable fees for VIP standing near the stage
Artist Info: Rice released his ten-song album Lambs & Lions late last year with new label partner BBR Music Group/ BMG—the follow-up to 2014’s Ignite the Night, which hit No. 1 on the country charts and reached the top five of the all-genre Billboard 200—but with Lambs & Lions, he is making a fresh start. With a new label and a renewed sense of creative purpose, he is making music that draws from multiple sources and influences, but is unified by his vision, integrity, and honesty.

The 10 songs on Lambs & Lions derive from Rice’s life and experience, triumphs and disappointments, and ultimately his determination to stand up for his convictions. Produced by Chris DeStefano, Mac MacAnally and, most surprisingly, Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Cold War Kids), Lambs & Lions offers up sounds from the unsettling strings and horns on the title track to the spare piano and swelling choir of “Amen.” And if it took him walking out on his record company and finding a new home to get there, it also reflects the unconventional path that led him to make music in the first place.

THE HABIT BURGER GRILL LAS VEGAS ANNOUNCES ALL-NEW TEMPURA
JALAPEÑO CHARBURGER AVAILABLE THROUGH NOV. 24

Limited time special created for Habit fans who like it spicy

burger

The Habit Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq: HABT), an Irvine-based restaurant company best known for its award-winning Charburgers, has announced the introduction of a spicy Tempura Jalapeño Charburger. The limited time special is available now through November 24 at participating Habit Burger Grill restaurants, including the all-new The Habit Burger Grill Las Vegas, and is priced at $4.95 (image attached).

The new Tempura Jalapeño Charburger starts with flavorful jalapeño chile peppers that are crisped to a light golden brown and placed on top of a fresh, seasoned chargrilled beef patty topped with melted American cheese, chopped lettuce, hand-sliced tomatoes and pickles. It’s served on a toasted bun spread with housemade spicy jalapeño ranch mustard.

ICONIC CHICAGO EATERY THE WIENER’S CIRCLE TO OPEN IN LAS VEGAS
Three Locations to Debut Summer 2014 inside Red Rock Resort and Santa Fe Station

The Wiener’s Circle, Chicago’s famed hot dog stand, will open in Las Vegas this summer with locations at Red Rock Resort and Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino. Offering authentic Chicago-style char-grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, fresh-cut fries and milkshakes, the 31 year-old landmark boasts famous fans including Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and Rachael Ray and has been featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.”The Wiener’s Circle moniker was selected by founders and horse racing fanatics Larry Gold and Barry Nemerow as a play on that sport’s designation for each race’s top thoroughbreds, and they have spent the last three decades delivering quality fare at reasonable prices. Over the years, many have tried to coax them to expand to other markets, however Las Vegas was the sweet spot for the pair.

While the Chicago location has gained some notoriety in recent years for late night antics between customers and staff, the Las Vegas outposts will focus on the legendary food in a family-friendly environment.

In addition to the classic menu offerings, the new locations will debut exclusive only-in-Vegas items, including all day breakfast nosh such as bacon, two eggs over easy and American cheese sandwiched in a fried donut, wieners in the blanket – ten or twenty piggies with a selection of sauces, a veggie burger and the Adult Happy Meal with a signature Chicago Char Cheddar dog, fries and a Pabst Blue Ribbon. The Wiener’s Circle will also serve the ever popular Krispy Kreme donuts.

Station Casinos’ popular entertainment destinations Red Rock Resort and Santa Fe Station provide a variety of amenities, including hotels, a full array of gaming, live entertainment, bowling, movies and an assortment of restaurants and bars. Both of The Weiner’s Circle outposts will be nestled between the sports book and poker room; the Red Rock Resort location is slated to open in early June, while the Santa Fe Station locations, including a satellite stand at the bowling center, are expected to debut this summer.

MERCADITO HOSPITALITY EXPANDS TO GREEN VALLEY RANCH RESORT

The Chicago-Based Restaurant Group Introduces Mercadito
at Green Valley Ranch Resort

Hot on the heels of their expansion news to Las Vegas at Red Rock Resort, Chicago-based Mercadito Hospitality will make its way to Station Casinos’ sister luxury resort, Green Valley Ranch Resort, with the Mercadito flagship restaurant and a Tippling Hall location, the group’s second location of its newest beverage concept. This extension will provide residents on both sides of the Vegas valley with the dining and nightlife experience that the award-winning Mercadito restaurants in Chicago and New York are known for, while introducing Tippling Hall to the neighborhood. The highly successful teams from Mercadito Hospitality and Station Casinos are thrilled to share these acclaimed concepts with locals and visitors in Henderson and Las Vegas.

With a menu that expertly blends traditional Mexican fare with creative interpretations of local and seasonal ingredients, Mercadito is modeled after the markets Chef/Partner Patricio Sandoval shopped at while growing up in his native Mexico. The food at Mercadito encompasses everything from handmade corn masa tortillas used for tacos to freshly prepared ceviches, guacamoles, and salsas. Designed for sharing, the family style meals artistically mingle the best of south-of-the-border taquerias and cantinas with local and seasonal ingredients making for an exciting and mouth-watering menu. A beverage menu designed by Mercadito Hospitality Partners/Beverage Team Tad Carducci and Paul Tanguay— the Tippling Bros.—rounds out the experience with creative variations of classic cocktails, incorporating Mexican ingredients and an extensive tequila list.

Tippling Hall first opened in Chicago and provides a spirited and comfortable atmosphere along with a beverage program designed to embrace the culture of drinking rituals from across the globe. Renowned as trendsetters in the beverage industry, the Tippling Bros. showcase a collage of beverages with innovative and creative presentations to create a temple to all things alcohol. From unique kegged cocktails to traditional brews, Tippling Hall has a drink for everyone paired with a menu of globally inspired comfort food crafted by Chef/Partner Guillermo Tellez.

About Mercadito Hospitality
Mercadito Hospitality has grown from its first New York City restaurant location in 2004 to become a renowned restaurant group. The popularity of the group’s restaurants can be attributed to Partners Alfredo and Felipe Sandoval, innovative culinary interpretations created by Chef/Partners Patricio Sandoval and Guillermo Tellez, and its joint venture with renowned consultants Paul Tanguay and Tad Carducci – the Tippling Bros – who bring inimitable flavor profiles to the group’s beverage programs.

Based in Chicago, the group owns and operates restaurants and bars across the U.S. including the flagship concept, Mercadito in Miami, Chicago, and New York City; Double A, a cocktail lounge located beneath Mercadito Chicago; Tavernita and Barcito in Chicago’s River North neighborhood; and Little Market Brasserie at Chicago’s Talbott Hotel.
