The Mob Museum’s “Inside The Life” Podcast Returns Tomorrow With Gripping Episode Featuring Acclaimed DEA Agent Steve Murphy

THE MOB MUSEUM‘S “INSIDE THE LIFE” PODCAST RETURNS TOMORROW, FRIDAY, MAY 16 FOR SECOND SEASON WITH GRIPPING FIRST EPISODE FEATURING LEGENDARY DEA AGENT STEVE MURPHY

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces season two of its award-winning podcast, “Inside the Life,” returns tomorrow with a gripping episode featuring acclaimed Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Steve Murphy. Renowned for leading the investigation, pursuit and takedown of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, alongside partner Javier Peña and the Colombian National Police, Murphy will offer a harrowing firsthand account of his life during one of the world’s most dangerous manhunts.

Winner of a 2024 gold Signal Award for “Best New Podcast,” a Webby Award nominee and hosted by former elite undercover agents Giovanni Rocco and Dutch McAlpin, “Inside the Life” season two picks up where the hit podcast left off—–pulling listeners into the adrenaline-filled world of organized crime with those who lived it and those who dare dismantle it. Season two episodes will air each Thursday, following its Friday, May 16, premiere.

With his story forming the backbone of the popular Netflix series “Narcos,” for which he narrated the first two seasons, Murphy’s “Inside the Life” episode will explore his law enforcement career, decision to join the DEA and efforts to track down Escobar with fellow DEA agent Javier Peña.

“With Steve Murphy’s interview launching season two, listeners are in for a powerful reminder of what this podcast is all about—an authentic look at organized crime’s impact on American society and the risk many law enforcement officers face to protect the public from real harm while bringing justice to some of the world’s darkest corners,” said Ashley Miller, vice president of marketing, communications and sales, The Mob Museum. “This season will once again give our audience access to stories they simply won’t hear anywhere else.”

Season two will feature an enthralling lineup of other guests, including Michael Corleone Blanco, son of cocaine queenpin Griselda Blanco; former DEA agent Pete Charette on the infamous French Connection; Bob Delaney, who went from undercover cop to NBA referee; Michael Moy, a former Chinatown gang member turned NYPD detective; FBI special agent and undercover training expert Terry Rankhorn; ex-CIA counterterrorism operative Michele Rigby Assad; reformed mobster Anthony Ruggiano Jr.; and Myron Sugerman, the “Last Jewish Gangster.”

Interested listeners can subscribe to “Inside the Life” on SpotifyApple PodcastsYouTube, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio and more, where they can listen to the podcast’s first season, featuring guests like reformed mobster Frank Calabrese Jr., DEA agent Javier Peña and “Narcos” and “Godfather of Harlem” creator Chris Brancato.
