Circa Resort & Casino Reveals New Details For Multi-Level Pool Amphitheater, Stadium Swim

When Circa Resort & Casino opens its doors in Downtown Las Vegas on October 28, it will debut Stadium Swim, a multi-level destination pool amphitheater operating 365 days a year that’s primed to become one of the most exciting pool experiences in the country. For Stadium Swim renderings, click here.

Overlooking both Downtown Las Vegas and The Strip, Stadium Swim’s bold design will house a massive screen for sports fans and sunseekers to catch games and entertainment of all kinds. The venue also will feature state-of-the-art Ultraviolet Light (UVL) sanitation and water-recirculation patterns, providing guests with the cleanest and healthiest public pool experience in Las Vegas.

Stadium Swim reservations are now live at https://circalasvegas.com/stadium-swim/ and can be booked using an interactive 3D map.

“We’re building Stadium Swim to be unlike any pool in existence today and to reinvent the Vegas pool party, 365 days a year,” said Circa’s CEO Derek Stevens. “I can promise there will be no better location in the world to watch a big game than at Stadium Swim – even better than at the game itself. Beyond sports, it will be a great place to catch sun and listen to music, and I believe it will be a destination experience that inspires trips to Las Vegas.”

Serving as the backdrop of the multifunctional pool space, a 135 x 41-foot, 14-million-megapixel LED screen will broadcast major games and popular televised events. To keep the party going, local artists will helm Stadium Swim’s DJ booth with a daily roster of upbeat music. Additionally, two swim-up bars on the pool deck’s lower level will enable guests to order a beverage without leaving the water.

Designed by Steelman Partners, the multi-tiered outdoor amphitheater will boast six pools and two spas, with 15,756 square feet of wet space. Each body of water will be a different temperature ranging from 78 to 94 degrees depending on weather conditions. The fifth-level pools will be heated to a temperature of 104 degrees on colder days, providing guests with an après ski-like sensation, all while in the heart of the desert.

A glimpse into Stadium Swim:

Poolside Accommodations

Guests can relax and unwind in an assortment of poolside lounge areas, including 30 cabanas and super cabanas hosting up to 25 guests. Approximately 340 chaise lounges, 38 day beds and eight poolside boxes will be offered for both hotel guests and visitors to rent. Enhanced VIP experiences will be available with tableside services including dedicated servers and towel refreshment, in addition to luxurious spaces with couches.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

As water cleanliness is a key priority for Stadium Swim, Circa’s team conducted in-depth research on the development of a pool that can self-clean several times a day. As a result, Stadium Swim’s water will be fully recirculated four to six times faster than required by codes. While typical pool filters are filled with sand, Stadium Swim’s will use an activated material that is 100 percent bio-resistant and self-sterilizing glass material. This will allow for a greater surface cleaning area, resulting in clearer and healthier water that is two times more effective than if sand was used.

All eight water bodies will have UVL sanitizers, which are technologically advanced devices designed to destroy pathogens, bacteria, viruses, organic and inorganic contaminants, and greatly reduce chlorine use. Additionally, the pools will have highly sophisticated and real-time chemical monitoring controllers in place to continuously analyze the composition of all pool and spa water, second by second. Automated chlorine and chemical-dispensing systems will instantaneously adjust water chemistry throughout the day.

STO Design Group, Inc., Circa’s pool consultant, stated, ”Circa has adopted by far the fastest recirculation times of any pool in Las Vegas, and hasnvested in the most effective filter, continuous UV light treatment of all systems, top-of-the-line water chemistry analyzers and chemical feed systems. Together, this will deliver the cleanest and most sustainable pool water in the city.”

Food & Drink

Stadium Swim will serve up poolside fare through a collaboration between famed Michigan restaurateurs Paul Saginaw, Chris Sotiropoulos and Grace Keros.

Together, Paul, Chris and Grace will bring pool-goers a selection of elevated poolside bites, with menu highlights such as lobster corndogs with yuzu dipping sauce, fruit nachos, the Stadium Dog (Circa’s twist to a Sonoran Dog), and classic favorites.  Table service will be top notch, with faster delivery times thanks to the use of mobile tablets that send orders immediately to the kitchen or bar.

Saginaw is known worldwide for Zingerman’s Deli, which is consistently ranked among the world’s best sandwich joints. Keros and Sotiropoulos are the third-generation owners of Detroit’s iconic 103-year-old American Coney Island, which made its mark on American history when it invented the Coney Dog. Both will open original concepts at Circa this fall – Saginaw’s Delicatessen and Victory Burger & Wings Co., respectively.

Along with Circa, guests 21 and older staying at Stevens’ sister properties – the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino – will be able to access Stadium Swim for free and can enjoy the venue one hour before it opens to the public.

Stadium Swim will be open seven days a week, excluding closures for special or private events. For guests not staying at the hotel, there will be a fee for entrance. Lounge chairs will be available to rent in two- or four-hour increments. Daybeds/cabanas will be sold with a food and beverage minimum and can be reserved all day. The pool deck also can be rented out for private events, meetings, parties and more.

Circa Resort & Casino will be Downtown Las Vegas’ first ground-up casino resort since 1980. The 1.25-million-square-foot integrated resort will feature the world’s largest sportsbook, stylish rooms and suites, a selection of original restaurant concepts and more.

First Bookings Available for Stadium-Style Sportsbook in Downtown Las Vegas on October 28

Circa Sports Debuts Colorado-Based Mobile App

With the debut of Circa Resort & Casino – Downtown Las Vegas’ first ground-up casino in four decades – set for October 28, the highly anticipated property is now taking reservations for the world’s largest sportsbook. Sports fans can be amongst the first to enjoy the three-story sports destination by reserving their spot at www.circalasvegas.com/sportsbook.

With the return of professional sports on the horizon, Circa will be the premier sportsbook for fans to celebrate their favorite teams and players. Operated by sports betting brand Circa Sports, the group of in-house experts are preparing to deliver guests one of the most diverse wagering menus in the city and an unforgettable betting experience for several upcoming events.

“Fans have proven time and time again that the demand for incredible sports betting experiences isn’t going away anytime soon,” said Circa’s CEO and developer Derek Stevens. “From atmosphere to offerings, Circa Sports will meet and exceed those expectations by giving guests the best and most exciting sportsbook they’ve ever stepped foot in.”

Launched in June 2019, Stevens’ brand has become a leader in the betting industry by combining superior customer-service with a team of the country’s top oddsmakers. Following a successful launch in Downtown Las Vegas, Circa Sports gave bettors the chance to turn fandom into fortune by hosting its first multi-million-dollar competition, the Circa Sports Million Contest. One year later, Stevens doubled down and expanded contest winnings with the return of the Circa Sports Million II Contest and the introduction of the Circa Survivor Contest, both of which promise their own million-dollar payouts. Extending the brand outside Las Vegas, Circa Sports also has announced the introduction of its Colorado-based mobile sports betting app through Circa Sports Colorado.

The World’s Largest Sportsbook

Housed in the 1.25 million-square-foot resort, Circa’s stadium-style sportsbook will be the property’s centerpiece with a 78-million-pixel, high-definition screen. Featured prominently throughout the resort’s casino, guests can watch the screen from a number of locations including Victory Burger & Wings Co., a sports bar-themed dining experience overlooking the space.

With the capacity to host up to 1,000 fans at any given time, the massive space promises an unparalleled viewing experience paired with the friendliest customer service in the city. The third floor will feature a dedicated broadcast studio for VSiN, The Sports Betting Network (VSiN), giving bettors real-time, in-depth analysis from expert broadcasters, athletes and industry professionals.

Guests can reserve a spot at Circa’s sportsbook for both day-of visits and future events, with pricing varying by occasion. Delivering a different viewing experience per section, the space will provide visitors with several reservation options from top tier to basic seating:

  • For fans who love the front row, The Dugout will offer VIP single-seat cushioned chairs directly in front of the three-story screen.
  • Just behind The Dugout, the Legends Club will make guests feel like an MVP as they cheer on their favorite teams from plush recliners.
  • Perfect for larger groups, the Champions Club section will include long, booth-style seating right behind the Legends.
  • Both the Circa Club Upper and Circa Club Lower sections will consist exclusively of booth seating, promising an intimate space to take in all the action.
  • Two areas featuring luxury stadium-style seating – the North and South Stands – will flank the sports book, offering tiered viewing for optimal vantage points.

Circa Sports currently operates at the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino and is helmed by Sports Director and longtime Las Vegas betting expert, Matt Metcalf.

Mobile Betting Reaches the Rockies

Following a successful launch in Las Vegas, Circa Sports is also expanding its operations in the Mile-High state with the introduction of a convenient mobile betting app. A subsidiary of Circa Sports, Circa Sports Colorado will provide a Vegas-style sports betting menu, including creative prop bets, higher and fairer betting limits and lower holds on futures markets than competitors. Fans can download and activate mobile wagering accounts from the comfort of their home, fund their Circa Sports app balance remotely and sign up for various contests – all through the new mobile app.

The app will allow Colorado bettors to wager on sports that have remained active including UFC, international soccer, NASCAR, Korean baseball, MLB, futures betting for NFL and College Football and more.

THE MOB MUSEUM LAUNCHES NEW FIRST-FLOOR EXHIBITION – “RISE OF THE CARTELS: INTERNATIONAL DRUG TRAFFICKING IN THE AMERICAS”

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces a new temporary exhibition titled “Rise of the Cartels: International Drug Trafficking in the Americas.” The exhibition is located on The Mob Museum’s first-floor.

The exhibition explores the history of international drug trafficking in North and South America, providing insights about infamous drug lords such as Pablo Escobar as well as an architectural model of the Mexican prison and tunnels tracing the escape route for drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán. It also examines fact versus fiction in the popular Netflix television series “Narcos” and “Narcos: Mexico.”

The exhibition features artifacts on loan from four different retired Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) special agents who battled the cartels in Colombia and Mexico from the 1970s through the 1990s. Select artifacts on display were provided by two former agents, Steve Murphy and Javier Pena, who helped take down Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar and whose work inspired the “Narcos” series. These artifacts include original documents, photos, badges, awards, clothing, a firearm and other objects directly tied to the agents’ battles with drug cartels. Additionally, a video montage will feature original photographs from Murphy and Pena’s personal collection.

Other artifacts were provided by former special agents James “Jaime” Kuykendall and Pedro “Pete” Hernandez, who were stationed in Guadalajara, Mexico, in the 1980s and worked closely with special agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who was kidnapped, tortured and killed by Mexican cartel members in 1985. Kuykendall is a major character in “Narcos: Mexico.”

The exhibition also will feature artifacts from the Museum’s collection, including a rare original copy of a commemorative leather-bound book of political cartoons that Escobar published not long before his death.

Circa Resort & Casino to Open October 28, 2020

CIRCA RESORT & CASINO TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE ON OCTOBER 28, 2020

Opening Will Mark First Downtown Gaming Resort Built from Ground Up in Four Decades

oday, CEO and developer Derek Stevens announced his newest Downtown Las Vegas property, Circa Resort & Casino, will debut October 28, 2020.

Previously slated for a December 2020 launch, the 1.25 million-square-foot integrated casino-resort will open with its first five floors of amenities and state-of-the-art parking hub – Garage Mahal – ahead of schedule. Upon completion, the resort will have approximately 1,000 employees.

To achieve this expedited timeline, Stevens reallocated construction resources from Circa’s hotel tower to the first five floors. Slated for completion at the end of 2020, the tower will house Circa’s 777 rooms and suites starting on the eighth floor; room reservations will go live June 24. Guests looking to visit prior to the tower opening can reserve rooms at the D Las Vegas or Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, also owned by Stevens, and enjoy access to Circa’s pool in addition to its public amenities.

“Sometimes life throws you curveballs, and 2020 has been an unpredictable year for the entire world,” said Stevens. “However, thanks to the creativity and ingenuity from our partners at McCarthy Building Companies Inc. and Tré Builders, we can move forward on this accelerated path and have an opening unlike Las Vegas has experienced. We are excited to see what the future holds and to give visitors and locals something to celebrate.”

Located on the world-famous Fremont Street Experience (FSE), Circa will offer guests the following amenities on October 28:

  • World’s Largest Sportsbook – One of Circa’s signature features will be its three-story, stadium-style sportsbook, boasting a 78-million-pixel high-definition screen that will be viewable throughout Circa’s two-story casino with a capacity to host up to 1,000 guests. Operated by Stevens’ sports betting venture Circa Sports, the third floor will house a dedicated broadcast studio for Vegas Stats and Information Network (VSiN), offering bettors in-depth expert analysis daily from broadcasters, athletes and industry professionals.
  • Pool Amphitheater – Operating 365 days a year, Circa’s pool amphitheater will quickly become an outdoor entertainment destination for sports watching, special events and parties. Year-round, guests can catch the biggest games and major televised events broadcast on the 14-million-pixel screen presiding over Circa’s six temperature-controlled pools and two spas. Larger groups can partake in one of the pool’s Super Cabanas, which can host up to 50 guests. Situated on Circa’s fifth floor, the venue also will feature its own food & beverage venue and music from DJs and special guests.
  • Original Food & Beverage Concepts
    • Saginaw’s Delicatessen – From legendary Michigan restaurateur Paul Saginaw, Saginaw’s Delicatessen will be a family style deli. Saginaw is known worldwide for the iconic Zingerman’s Deli – an Ann Arbor institution he opened with partner Ari Weinzweig in 1982 – that is consistently ranked among the world’s best sandwich joints. Saginaw’s Delicatessen will mark Paul’s first venture outside of the Zingerman’s brand, and will include his famous Reuben and creative sandwiches, as well as delicatessen favorites such as matzo ball soup, onion rings, salads, latkes, chopped liver, breakfast specialties and more.
      • Barry’s Downtown Prime – As Circa’s premier steakhouse, Barry’s Downtown Prime will evoke vintage Vegas’ glamour and hospitality. From Chef Barry S. Dakake and his collaborators at Make It Happen Hospitality, Barry’s Downtown Prime will feature succulent steaks, seafood and a dynamic cocktail program. Barry’s will bring guests back to the classic cool of the 50s and 60s when great music and sounds of clinking martini glasses filled the air, the chef greeted you at the table, the bartender knew your favorite cocktail and everyone felt like a VIP.
      • Victory Burger & Wings Co. – Created by the founding family of the 102-year-old American Coney Island, Victory Burger & Wings Co. will be Circa’s high-energy sports bar. Helmed by Chris Sotiropoulos and Grace Keros, the lively venue will offer ½ pound burgers, crispy wings, unbeatable fries and an excellent beer selection. Guests can catch sports action on TVs throughout the space in addition to a prime view of the massive three-story screen in Circa’s sportsbook. Additionally, Victory Burger & Wings Co. will have its own radio booth, where fans might spot their favorite sports talk show conducting a broadcast on gameday.
      • Project BBQ – Local food truck Project BBQ will find a permanent home at Circa. Helmed by Chef Rex Bernales, Project BBQ will serve up authentic Carolina-style barbecue including mouthwatering pulled brisket, pork, chicken and more. Situated on Circa’s exterior, Project BBQ will spill out onto FSE with a built-in “backyard” for communal gathering. Guests can dine on picnic tables and sip cocktails from Circa’s outdoor bar as they enjoy spectacular light shows from Viva Vision overhead and live music from surrounding concert stages.
  • Two-Story Casino – Circa’s two-story casino will feature 1,350 slot machines and 49 table games.
  • Vegas Vickie Returns – Las Vegas’ beloved neon kicking cowgirl, Vegas Vickie, will make her highly anticipated return to Downtown Las Vegas as a must-see feature in the resort’s lobby. A Las Vegas landmark, Vegas Vickie first appeared on the dazzling Downtown landscape in 1980 and made headlines across the globe in 1994 when she married her neon counterpart, Vegas Vic. Fans thought Vegas Vickie was riding off into the sunset forever when Stevens removed her to make way for Circa’s construction, but after a fresh makeover, she’s back in action at the resort.
  • Garage Mahal – The first fully integrated ride-share hub conceived for a new gaming resort, Garage Mahal’s high-tech design and thoughtful features will make it the most convenient parking and transportation venue in the city, with a focus on an elevated level of service and safety. Clean and well-lit, Garage Mahal will spotlight stunning art installations throughout its nine floors. Uber and Lyft passengers will enjoy a seamless experience on the first floor, with easy access for valet and self-parking on additional floors, and a quick in-and-out format for drivers. An air-conditioned bridge over Main Street will connect Garage Mahal to Circa Resort & Casino.

Pan-Asian eatery 8 East from Downtown Las Vegas’ Chef Dan Coughlin will open in December 2020.

Paying homage to Las Vegas’ vibrant history, Circa will be a modern casino experience founded on the original principles of old-school hospitality. Fusing the glamour of vintage Vegas with modern luxuries and cutting-edge technology, guests can expect top-notch entertainment while enjoying honest, attentive and friendly service.

shareDOWNTOWN announces first release of units with move-in specials

Opening later this month, shareDOWNTOWN – a brand new apartment complex that pairs a vibrant, stylish urban lifestyle with relaxing, personal spaces in downtown Las Vegas’ Arts District – has released the first 16 units for leasing and is offering a limited time, early-bird move-in special of just $199, a savings of more than $900 (with approved credit).

The 16 units are the first of 63 apartments that will be available at shareDOWNTOWN for lease. Twelve-month leases offer rents starting at $1,100 that include all utilities except cable and high-speed internet. Six-month leases are also available.

The nearly 500 square-foot apartments have a single floor plan, with most units offering city or mountain views and Juliette balconies or interior open-air courtyard patios. Every unit features modern design elements, such as European cabinetry, wood plank-style flooring, quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances, including an electric cooktop and a smart all-in-one washer and dryer. shareDOWNTOWN residents have peace-of-mind with enhanced security, including keyless front door locks, key fob main entry, fully secured garage and remotely monitored cameras.

The building’s centerpiece is an interior, open-air courtyard where residents and their guests can relax or entertain. shareDOWNTOWN reflects its artistic neighborhood with one-of-a-kind art from local artist SNIPT. The building exterior will feature three large format (31 feet x 18 feet) murals that are likely the largest murals in the Arts District. The first mural to debut was of Dennis Hopper, who previously had an art show in the Arts District and the second is of the late Jean-Michel Basquiat, an American artist of Haitian and Puerto Rican descent known for art highlighting the dichotomies of society, like wealth versus poverty and integration versus segregation. The third mural is currently underway. Additional art pieces by SNIPT will be on display in interior corridors.

shareDOWNTOWN placed a special emphasis on unique health and wellness amenities, including the Zen Room for yoga/ meditation and wellness/therapist programming to help residents live happier and healthier lives. The nearby gym, Real Results, created customized fitness workouts via calisthenics stations on the third and fourth floors.

The ground floor of shareDOWNTOWN will be home to Golden Fog Coffee and a new Mezcal restaurant/bar, both anticipated to open in the coming months, as well as parking for residents.

Downtown Las Vegas’ only Bingo room welcomes back players with new offers, Super Bingo in July

Home to Downtown Las Vegas’ only bingo room, the Plaza Hotel & Casino again offers six daily bingo sessions starting today and will hold its popular Super Bingo tournament, July 5-7.

“We have greatly missed our bingo players,” said Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel. “Bingo is great entertainment for all ages, and bingo at the Plaza is popular with tourists and locals alike. While we have new guidelines to protect everyone’s health and safety, the fun and friendly atmosphere that bingo at the Plaza is known for will not change. We are excited to welcome back bingo, especially our very popular Super Bingo tournament!”

Originally planned for June, the Plaza’s $175,000 Super Bingo tournament will now occur Sunday, July 5 – Tuesday, July 7. The event typically draws nearly 1,000 people from across the country and as far away as Hawaii and Canada for the opportunity to win big playing fun-filled games of bingo over 2 days, with a super coverall both days, while socializing with like-minded bingo players. Bingo-only registration is $130 per person. Hotel-and-bingo packages start at $239 for a three-night stay. Register online at https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/bingo/super-bingo-registration/. Daily session occupancy will be capped at 50 percent, and players will be allowed to enter the Bingo room in between sessions to reserve a seat. Super Bingo attendance may also be limited depending on requirements in July, so early reservations are highly recommended.

To celebrate the reopening of Bingo at the Plaza, Blue Packs pay $75 and Blue Coverall pays $300. The Plaza also continues to offer the Bingo Millions Megaprogressive games, Hotball Jackpot and Cashball Bonus. For a limited time, players can purchase the Million Dollar Coverall at 47 numbers or less.

“As with the rest of the world, the past few months have presented our city with an unprecedented challenge, and our team has worked around the clock to bring back the Vegas experience our visitors know and love,” said Stevens. “We are excited to get our employees back to work and to welcome guests to the entertainment capital of the world.”

Located on the world-famous Fremont Street Experience, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate are currently offering the following amenities for guests to enjoy:

  • the D Las Vegas – A Downtown Las Vegas party hotspot, the D Las Vegas delivers a thrilling energy and attitude synonymous with the surrounding neighborhood. With 629 rooms and suites, as well as a two-story casino, visitors will find classic Vegas excitement with offerings such as LONGBAR, a sports hub and the longest bar in Nevada; the only Sigma Derby horse racing game in Las Vegas; the recently debuted Circa Sports book; and new hockey-centric bar, BarCanada. Hungry patrons can once again grab a world-famous Coney Dog at American Coney Island and premier steaks and seafood at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse.
  • Golden Gate Hotel & Casino – Originally opened in 1906 at One Fremont Street, Golden Gate is Downtown Las Vegas’ most historic hotel. Brimming with stories and artifacts from Las Vegas’ past, visitors can retreat to one of Golden Gate’s “Original 10” rooms – which have been maintained for 114 years – or opt for a swanky suite, located in its luxury tower. Guests can get a drink at the property’s outside watering hole, OneBar, or relive the Rat Pack era with a stop at Bar Prohibition!, which is located in the exact same spot where Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. used to drink. Sports fans can bet on their favorite teams with a visit to Golden Gate’s intimate Circa Sports book.

The reopenings of the D and Golden Gate come a week after Stevens launched his “Keep America Flying” promotion, which offered 2,000 free Las Vegas-bound flights to travelers across the country. After the first 1,000 flights were booked in less than two hours, Stevens launched phase two of the nationwide giveaway by adding an additional 1,000 flights. The initiative was created to reignite tourism to Las Vegas and support the airline industry.

To make up for lost time, guests who may have missed their birthday celebrations due to the shutdown can request a free bottle of Tito’s Handmade Vodka with a room reservation at the D or Golden Gate through the month of June.

D Grill at the D, as well as bell and valet services for both properties will remain closed until further notice. For information regarding the D and Golden Gate’s health and safety protocol following the COVID-19 crisis, visit www.thed.com/health-safety/.

FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE TO REOPEN IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS JUNE 3

Fremont Street Experience (FSE) announced today they will reopen the pedestrian mall and access to adjacent hotel casinos and retail stores when they reopen on June 3 at 9 a.m.

Leading up to the reopening of FSE’s casino partners, the world’s largest single video screen, Viva Vision, will display a 144-hour countdown that will conclude at the exact moment gaming operations restart at 12:01 a.m. on June 4.

Adhering to the guidelines put forth by the Global Association for the Attractions Industry (IAPPA), SlotZilla zipline will also reopen in downtown Las Vegas on June 4 at 4 p.m.

As downtown Las Vegas prepares to reopen, FSE will continue to employ robust cleaning procedures designed to mitigate the spread of the virus based on guidance of Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and public health officials. To ensure the safety of visitors and employees, FSE will disinfect the pedestrian mall, parking garage and SlotZilla towers twice a day with environmentally friendly and highly effective products that are immediately safe for human contact.

“The health and well-being of our guests, tenants, resort partners and employees remain a top priority to Fremont Street Experience,” said Patrick Hughes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fremont Street Experience. “Although experiences will be altered to adjust to this new normal, we are committed to reinvigorating downtown Las Vegas and helping make a positive impact in the community. We look forward to welcoming guests back to Fremont Street Experience soon.”
