Big Laughs, Bold Lineups and a Bonus Set This August
August brings a full slate of headliners to the Dragon Room,
plus a special afternoon set from Jack Jr. at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23.
The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower’s L.A. Comedy Club will bring a fresh wave of laughter this August with a knockout lineup of nationally touring headliners. Taking over the Dragon Room stage are top talents like Jimmy Shubert, Cody Woods, Willie Farrell, JC Currais and Greg Wilson, each delivering a distinct blend of side-splitting laughter and sharp punchlines. With three shows every night and a special afternoon show featuring Jack Jr., it’s the ideal spot to unwind, sip something strong and enjoy an evening packed with pure comedy gold. The L.A. Comedy Club, dubbed “The younger rebel brother of Improv” by Casino Player Magazine, has been entertaining Las Vegas locals and visitors since 2007. Known as the spot “where comedy comes to party,” the repeat gold “Best of Las Vegas” award winner has relocated its famed Dragon Room to a custom-built 270-seat showroom on the main casino floor at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower.

Recently awarded Silver for “Best Comedian” in the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s 2024 “Best of Las Vegas,” Julio Gonzalez, a rising star in the comedy scene, is known nationwide for his storytelling comedic style using his life experiences such as weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. Gonzalez also uses his platform and talents as a comedian to help others through his various charity shows and is committed to being the change he wants to see in the world.

Comedic veteran, Butch Bradley, grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and started his comedy career by becoming a founding member of the Boston Improv Troupe. Bradley has been the opening act for comedic legends like Ray Romano, Lewis Black and Cathy Ladman and has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, has been a regular on “The Late Late Show” and toured festivals such as the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and made an appearance as a USO Entertainer. Bradley has received multiple awards for “Best Comedian,” including three consecutive golds and a bronze from the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” awards. Bradley’s comedy special, “Butch Bradley: From Las Vegas” is currently available on Amazon Prime. He can also be seen on the big screen in the recently released film “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid.

Jack Assadourian, known as Jack Jr. on stage, grew up in the comedy scene as the son of comedy club owners. His Armenian and Mexican background made for great stand-up content, sharing stories and experiences resonating with audiences from different backgrounds. Eventually, he turned to acting and writing; his talents led to getting featured for big names, including Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans, Jr., and David Spade. In 2019, he was a finalist on the NBC series “Stand Up” and has appeared in comedies including “50 Shades of Black” as well as on Amazon’s series “Laugh After Dark” and the documentary “Make America Laugh Again.”

Monday, July 28 through Sunday, Aug. 3: Jimmy Shubert featuring Johnny Pizzi
Jimmy Shubert, a Philadelphia native, started performing stand-up right out of high school at local comedy clubs before moving to Los Angeles, where he began working at The Comedy Store. Shubert was one of the original “Outlaws of Comedy” that toured for five years, playing major casinos in Las Vegas and other cities, often to more than 6,000 people per show. Since his performance in the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in 1997, Shubert’s television appearances have ranged from IFC, ABC, NBC, CBS and Disney Channel with appearances on “2 Broke Girls,” “Heist,” “ER,” “Reno 911,” “Rude Awakenings,” “Angel,” “Once and Again,” “Lucky,” “New Car Smell,” “Secret Service Guy,” “Just Shoot Me” and “Youth in Revolt.” He has worked with such marquee names as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Katie Holmes and Robin Williams. His first half-hour special for “Comedy Central Presents” was recorded at the Hudson Theater in New York City. Additionally, he has recorded three comedy albums with his most recent, “Zero Tolerance,” reaching the No. 1 Comedy Album spot on iTunes.
Johnny Pizzi has been making audiences laugh for over 30 years, becoming a staple of the Boston comedy scene and a favorite across the East Coast. Known for his sharp timing and effortless charm, Pizzi is a master at reading the room, whether he’s performing at top comedy clubs, corporate events, resorts or 55+ communities. His career has also taken him overseas to entertain U.S. troops in Sarajevo, Kosovo and Bosnia, an experience he considers one of the most meaningful of his life. A true comedic chameleon, Pizzi headlines up to 100 charity shows a year and has helped raise millions for worthy causes, all while keeping the laughs coming.

Monday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 10: Cody Woods featuring Nancy Lee
Originally from Kansas City, Cody Woods is now a prominent comedian based in Los Angeles. He appeared on season three of Comedy Central’s “Hart of the City,” The Comedy Shaq Network and the Emmy-nominated show “Mind Field.” Woods knew he wanted to be a comedian since he was five years old. He had always used humor to navigate the challenging upbringing of having a single mother, living in a trailer, frequently changing schools and often being the ethnic minority in his class. He used jokes and humor to win over friends and avoid being bullied. Over the years, he has opened for renowned comedians such as Dave Attell, Paul Mooney, Tom Segura, Bruce Bruce, Charlie Murphy, Steve-O and Todd Glass. In 2014, Woods toured with the USO entertaining troops in Japan and performed at the NACA college circuit. He was a finalist in the 2015 Cabo San Lucas Comedy Festival and was handpicked by Kevin Hart to showcase on Comedy Central in 2019.
Nancy Lee is originally from the Bay Area and now based in Los Angeles. She is a stand-up comedian, actor and self-proclaimed, full-time “cougar wife.” Lee has been selected to showcase her stand-up comedy talent for HBO Max’s “Ha Festival” as well as the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival. Her style incorporates animation and commitment which creates a strong stage presence that stands out in the comedy world. In addition to being a talented stand-up comedian, she is also an accomplished actress with appearances on television and film including ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Blacklist” and “Dr. Ken.”

Monday, Aug. 11 through Sunday, Aug. 17: Willie Farrell
Willie Fratto Farrell has been one of the country’s most requested corporate performers for the past 25 years. With his unique, hilarious humor, tailor-made for his audience, he will take that humdrum sales meeting or predictable holiday party and turn it into a memorable event. Farrell has performed as a regular act on Norwegian Cruise Line for more than 20 years and has entertained in nearly every comedy club in the country. Now he spends most of his time in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, where he has become a favorite at The STRAT’s L.A. Comedy Club. Willie has appeared on A&E, Comedy Central, ESPN and was featured on “The Godfathers of Comedy” airing on Showtime.

Monday, Aug. 18 through Sunday, Aug. 24: JC Currais
JC Currais is a Cuban American comedian and actor, born and raised in Miami. His acting career began in 2010 when he made his film debut at the Sundance Film Festival in a feature titled “New Low.” Since then, Currais has starred in television shows such as FOX’s “Lethal Weapon” and BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood” and was a series regular on Disney Channel’s original series “Just Roll With It.” In the comedy world, Currais has performed on TBS’ “Conan” and Comedy Central, was named TBS’ “Top Comics to Watch” at the New York Comedy Festival and was one of the New Faces of Comedy at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. In 2020, Currais wrote and performed on the Twitch Sketch series “Two Joysticks and a Couch.”

Monday, Aug. 25 through Sunday, Aug. 31: Greg Wilson featuring Tony B.
Greg Wilson is a stand-up comedian and actor based out of Los Angeles. Wilson has performed on “Comics Unleashed” with Byron Allen and “Comedy.TV” on Showtime. He has also made guest appearances on television shows, including “Modern Family,” “Law & Order,” “Hawaii Five-O” and “Bones.” His resume also includes appearances on three seasons of “World’s Dumbest” on TruTV, two seasons on VH1’s “The Greatest” as well as other shows on MTV, E!, TLC, TV Guide Network and many others. Last summer, he also starred in Geico’s “parkour” car insurance commercial. Wilson also runs a stand-up comedy academy, The Comedy Institute, where he offers courses on storytelling, handling hecklers and other skills necessary for a stand-up comedian.
Tony Behinfar, AKA Tony B, got his start doing improv in Chicago. When he moved to Phoenix many years ago, he turned his attention to stand-up and never looked back. Tony uses his improv skills and applies them to his stand-up acts while keeping an energetic and spontaneous demeanor. Being raised by an Iranian immigrant father and an Italian mother has given Tony a unique perspective on family, relationships and life in general. Tony’s talents have taken him to performing in clubs, casinos and festivals throughout the Southwest. He has headlined Bart Reed’s “Comic Strip” in El Paso, the Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, Arizona, JP’s Comedy Club in Gilbert, Arizona as well as Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in Chicago and now is a regular feature and headlining stand up comedian in clubs all over the country. His debut comedy special entitled “Tony B: Day Drinker” can be seen on Amazon Prime and heard on Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes.
