“The World’s Largest Honky Tonk” themed restaurant announces new plans and more concerts

 

The legendary Billy Bob’s Texas, located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, first opened in 1981. Billy Bob’s Texas has applied for a new permit that would allow the legendary Stockyards bar to open and operate as a restaurant, under restaurant guidelines. Management is still working on a few details but has every intention of opening BBT and the Honky Tonk Kitchen sometime between August 12-14.

Did you know that every two seconds, someone in America requires blood? People with cancer, trauma patients, premature babies, accident victims and more.

As a national network, the Red Cross has a responsibility to meet the demand for blood and help ensure it is available for patients whenever and wherever it is needed, but we need your help. The coronavirus pandemic has caused a decline in blood units collected.

Casey will be playing music throughout the day, so the donors can hear some live music while they donate! Casey and Melinda will also be giving away goodie bags.

Red Cross is taking all safety precautions to protect donors and staff. Everyone that comes into the blood drive will have to wear a mask and have their temperature taken. All surfaces are completely sanitized between donors. As an added benefit, all blood, platelet, and plasma donations will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies as an additional health service to blood donors.

Note: The Red Cross is not testing donors to diagnose illness, referred to as a diagnostic test, and a positive antibody test results do not confirm infection or immunity; a positive antibody test indicates potential exposure to the virus.

Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25) will be holding a press conference at Billy Bob’s Texas on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00AM (CT) highlighting the urgency of providing relief to independent live music venues through the Save Our Stages Act. He will be joined by venue owners and artists from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Proving a monumental force to be reckoned with, Rocklands holds an optimistic attitude and considers alternatives instead of accepting defeat. Cirque du Soleil is opening up its vault of historical recordings for the first time ever, offering fans selected acts of iconic shows from its earliest days. On Friday June 12th, as part of its CirqueConnect special programming, three of the first shows to ever be performed under the Cirque du Soleil Big Top will be unveiled in a brand new 60-minute special: Cirque Réinventé, Nouvelle Expérience and Saltimbanco.

These early creations show how Cirque du Soleil has completely transformed circus acts into an internationally recognized live theatrical experience. Featuring Cirque Réinventé from 1987 Nouvelle Expérience from 1990 and Saltimbanco from 1992, viewers can witness the undeniable artistic and creative growth from the world-famous entertainment producer.

As seen throughout those conceptual productions, Cirque du Soleil has changed the entertainment world by reinventing traditional acts that became uniquely poetic where the performance is part of a more theatrical and dynamic story line.

Dedicated to Cirque du Soleil fans all over the world, this week’s brand-new 60-minute special will take viewers down memory lane for a colorful and emotional journey into its inaugural year and early beginnings.

About Cirque Réinventé

Cirque Réinventé performed for the first time to an American audience at the Los Angeles Art Festival in 1987. It was a critical milestone for Cirque du Soleil. This show was the springboard for the company’s explosion on the international scene. Cirque Réinventé then went on to continue its North American tour after a brief appearance at the Calgary Winter Olympics.

About Nouvelle Expérience

Nouvelle Expérience premiered in 1990 and was the fourth creation of Cirque du Soleil and turned out to be its most popular show to date. It continued to run until 1993. Led by the company’s co-founder, Gilles Ste-Croix, the production tried out new ideas to further heighten the show experience. This is where the curtain that separates the artists from the audience was eliminated in order for both to feel part of a larger communal experience. This is also the first production to visit Las Vegas and the first time a Cirque du Soleil residency was discussed.

About Saltimbanco

In 1992, Cirque du Soleil added a monument to its repertoire of shows with Saltimbanco. This production became the company’s longest running production by the time it closed. Performed under the Big Top from 1992 to 2006 in its original form around the world, a new adaptation of the show, staged in arenas, started touring in 2007. Saltimbanco‘s last performance took place in Montreal on December 30, 2012 after 6,000 Big Top and arena appearances, wowing 14 million spectators in 200 cities worldwide.

Adventuredome Amusement Park Open to Guests for Thrill Seeking, Family Fun at Circus Circus Las Vegas

Circus Circus Las Vegas is welcoming back families and thrill-seeking guests to the Adventuredome. The iconic indoor 5-acre amusement park is now open to the public with hours of operation of Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

 

Southern Nevada locals with proof of ID are eligible to receive a 20 percent discount to the amusement park from 10 a.m. to Noon daily in the month of June.

 

Amid current local and state regulations, the Adventuredome is committed to keeping its park clean, safe and fun for employees and guests. Capacity is currently reduced on all rides and attractions to allow for appropriate social distancing. All employees are required to wear facemasks, which is optional and encouraged for guests. Touchless hand sanitizers are also placed around the park and at each ticket booth, as cleaning teams are elevating normal routines of disinfecting all park elements.

Among its many attractions, Adventuredome guests are encouraged to visit the Carnival Midway where they can play a huge selection of games and win premium prizes. The Midway surrounds the circus stage, which showcases free circus acts — including flying trapeze, circus clowns, jugglers, contortionists and more — daily.

 

Circus Circus reopened on June 4 following its temporary closure due to COVID-19 restrictions. Currently, on the Circus Circus grounds, various gambling options, venues and restaurants are open as well as a renovated Slots A Fun Casino space and enhanced guest check-in to the Circus Circus RV Park.

The Academy of Country Music® and dick clark productions announced today that the 55TH ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS™ will take place in Nashville, TN for the first time in the show’s 55-year history. In an unprecedented move, the 55th ACM AWARDS® will be the first awards show to broadcast from three iconic Country Music venues including the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe. The announcement was made this morning during Nashville Mayor John Cooper’s daily press conference. Hosted by reigning ACM® Entertainer of the Year and 15-time ACM Award winner Keith Urban, the 55th ACM Awards will be broadcast on Wednesday, Sept. 16 (live 8:00-11:00 PM ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and will stream live and on demand on CBS All Access.

“While we were disappointed to postpone our April show in Las Vegas, we couldn’t be more thrilled to host the rescheduled 55th ACM Awards in the home of Country Music for the first time in the Academy’s history,” said Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music. “First and foremost, we want to ensure the safety of our artists and industry, and to ease the burdens of traveling large teams; therefore, we decided to bring the ACM Awards to them this September in Nashville. NFL Superstar and Entertainer Terry Bradshaw Set to
Release Original Song, “Quarantine Crazy”

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Super Bowl champion and FOX NFL analyst, Terry Bradshaw, along with Sony Music Entertainment, will debut a new single, “Quarantine Crazy,” at midnight EST/9 p.m. PST on Thursday, April 23.

 

The football star and iconic entertainer has channeled his musical talents into the song, which will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and other outlets. Co-written by country singer Jimmy Yeary, “Quarantine Crazy” playfully chronicles the plight of the current “safer-at-home” quarantine mandates.

 

“After weeks of staying home and social distancing, I think we can all relate to feeling a bit ‘Quarantine Crazy’,” said Bradshaw. “However, it is more important than ever to remain home and stay safe. We will all get on the other side of this soon, but in the meantime, I hope this song brings a smile to your faces.”

 

A portion of the proceeds received from the sale of the song will support local food banks in Oklahoma and Texas.

 

Bradshaw, who has a long history in music and entertainment, was signed to a 31-show residency with “The Terry Bradshaw Show” at Luxor Hotel and Casino for 2020. New dates for his Las Vegas show have not yet been announced. His first foray into music, a cover of Hank William’s classic “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” landed him on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. He also hit the charts with his follow up single, “The Last Word in Lonesome is Me.” Bradshaw has released two albums in his career, toured with gospel artists, The Isaacs, and participated in FOX’s singing competition, “The Masked Singer.”

 Las Vegas-based musician Justin Carder, a versatile singer and songwriter who typically performs more than 300 live gigs a year, now offers private virtual concerts via Facebook Live. Perfect for bringing people together to celebrate festive occasions of all kinds, concerts can be organized for invitation-only private Facebook groups. Carder performs the concerts from his living room, while audiences can comprise people from anywhere in the world.

“When I realized we would have to celebrate my wife Celena’s birthday under quarantine, I tried to think of a way to involve her friends and family in something special,” explained Chris Stacey, who organized a private Facebook Live concert with Carder. “Justin had performed a few virtual concerts for his own Facebook followers, so I asked if I could book him for a private birthday concert and he was game. Most importantly, Celena loved it.”

During the concert, the virtual audience can use the Facebook Live comments section to make requests and interact with one another. Private live-streamed concerts typically entail a fee, which Carder is willing to negotiate based on his clients’ specific needs and circumstances. He also provides his CashApp and Venmo handles so anyone who wishes to tip him can do so.

“Music has a way of lifting people up and uniting them like nothing else—and we need to find ways to connect with one another now more than ever,” said Carder. “I’m just grateful to be able to do something that brings joy to people while circumstances keep them apart.”
