RUNNIN’ REBELS AT BOISE STATE TUESDAY AT 8 PM PT ON ESPNU
Shorthanded UNLV has won three of its last four games
The extremely shorthanded UNLV men’s basketball team will look for its second-straight win and fourth in the last five games as it travels to Boise, Idaho, to face Boise State on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 9 p.m. MST/8 p.m. PST at Taco Bell Arena (12,480).
The Runnin’ Rebels (16-12, 7-8 MW) are coming off a 102-91 overtime victory over intrastate-rival Nevada, Reno on Saturday. Sophomore guard Patrick McCaw beat the buzzer on an off-balance 3-pointer to force overtime.
UNLV was without three key players on Saturday as junior forward Ben Carter is out for the season with a torn ACL, freshman forward Stephen Zimmerman Jr. has been out indefinitely with a knee injury and sophomore forward Dwayne Morgan hurt his shoulder during the gameday shootaround and had to miss the contest. The Runnin’ Rebels are now 7-5 under Interim Head Coach Todd Simon.
Boise State (17-10, 8-6 MW) is coming off an 80-78 loss at New Mexico on Wednesday. The Broncos, who have lost three of their last four games, led by 15 with six minutes to play against the Lobos.
Tuesday’s game will be televised nationally on ESPNU with Roxy Bernstein and Kyle Macy calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the UNLV radio broadcast, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/100.9 FM.
