VEGAS THRILL NAMES TONY LOVITT OFFICIAL PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER; MERCEDES MARTINEZ TO SERVE AS EMCEE AND HOST
Tony Lovitt and Mercedes Martinez Set to Headline Vegas Thrill
As excitement builds for the inaugural season of Vegas Thrill, the first professional volleyball team in Las Vegas, the organization proudly announces the appointment of Tony Lovitt as the official Public Address Announcer. Joining him as the official Emcee and Host is the celebrated Mercedes Martinez, known for her role as the host of “Mercedes in the Morning” on KMXB/Mix 94.1 and “Las Vegas NOW” on KLAS-CBS. Bringing decades of experience and unparalleled charisma, Lovitt and Martinez promise to elevate the Vegas Thrill experience with excitement, laughter and thrills.
With over four decades of experience, Lovitt’s distinctive voice has resonated across a multitude of prestigious sports and entertainment events throughout North America. Lovitt’s illustrious career boasts a remarkable repertoire of venues, including notable appearances at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. His talent has also graced international stages, such as the 2011 pre-Olympic volleyball tournament at Earl’s Court in London, UK, and the 1990 Goodwill Games held in Spokane and Seattle, Washington.
“I’m grateful to the Thrill for this wonderful opportunity and I’m very much looking forward to bringing energy to the Dollar Loan Center for them throughout their inaugural season,” said Lovitt. “Volleyball has been a huge component of my professional career and I’m delighted to be able to play a small part in helping to make the Thrill successful in my adopted hometown.”
In addition to Lovitt’s appointment, the Vegas Thrill organization is delighted to announce Mercedes Martinez, beloved radio personality of “Mercedes in the Morning” on KMXB/ Mix 94.1 and host of “Las Vegas NOW” on KLAS-CBS, will serve as the official Emcee/Host of Vegas Thrill. Martinez brings her infectious energy and charm to the role, promising unforgettable moments for fans both in the arena and listening at home.
“Being named the official Emcee for Vegas Thrill fills me with absolute joy,” said Mercedes Martinez. “Volleyball holds a special place in my heart for numerous reasons. As a devoted club volleyball mom, I not only bring passion as a fan but also a deep connection to the sport, and I can’t wait to bring the excitement to every game and make unforgettable memories for our fans.”
Vegas Thrill is one of seven U.S. teams for the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation season in 2024, while Dallas, Indianapolis and Kansas City have been announced as 2025 expansion teams. In 2024, Vegas Thrill will play 24 matches which includes 12 at home and 12 on the road in the regular season. The team’s home opener is set for Feb. 15 against the Supernovas at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson.
Season memberships and Single Match Tickets are available now ranging from $29 to $114 per match for 12 home contests. Full season and half season VIP membership will be available as well. Single match tickets are on sale and available on VegasThrill.com.
