Holiday Hiring Event on Thursday, November 5 at 9 a.m.

Employers will be onsite hiring for more than 200 job openings

’Tis the season for holiday employment and Workforce Connections, along with Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly, want to make sure job seekers, specifically young adults, are aware of available opportunities.

Together, they are hosting a special Holiday Hiring Event on Thursday, November 5 at 9 a.m. at Workforce Connections, 6330 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 150, Las Vegas, NV 89146.

Interested job seekers should visit www.nvcareercenter.org/hiringevent to apply and learn more about open positions.

Employers will be onsite during the special Holiday Hiring Event interviewing and hiring for more than 200 job openings at businesses such as R.W. Garcia, UPS, Digiphoto, Sting Alarm, SNH, Diamond Resorts and Sunrise Children’s Foundation.

Young adults ages 18 to 24 are highly encouraged to attend.

“For the past several years it has been very difficult for young adults seeking part-time or temporary work during the holidays to be hired. But that is changing,” said Kenadie Cobbin Richardson, Workforce Connections director of business engagement and communications. “With the unemployment rate on the decline here in Southern Nevada, this year there are opportunities for young adults to earn extra money and also gain valuable work history that will help them when they are ready for full time employment.”

About Workforce Connections: Workforce Connections is a government funded nonprofit. Its mission is to connect employers to a ready workforce. The passing of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) on July 22, 2014 provides opportunity for reforms to ensure the One-Stop Delivery System (also known as the American Job Center System) is job-driven, responding to the needs of employers and preparing workers for jobs that are available now and in the future.
