“BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” raised $11,111.11 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during its December 2017 performances. After each show at The Palazzo Las Vegas, cast members encouraged audience members to contribute to the nonprofit organization dedicated to helping men, women, and children across the country and across the street receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling, and emergency financial assistance.
As one of the nation’s leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS draws upon the talents, resources and generosity of the American theatre community and since 1988 has raised more than $285 million for essential services for people with HIV/AIDS and other critical illnesses in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, DC.
“BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” is a new generation cabaret and high-energy movie-music mash-up that blends the world’s most iconic love stories as imagined by famed film visionary Baz Luhrmann. Inspired by Luhrmann’s signature take on “Romeo + Juliet,” “Moulin Rouge,” and “The Great Gatsby,” this theatrical concert features soul-stirring and stunning performances from an ensemble cast and band.
More than than five years in the making “BAZ – A Musical Mash-Up” is the creation of For The Record, a genre-bending theatrical company in Los Angeles with a vision of turning the soundtracks of iconic filmmakers into immersive theatrical concert experiences.
