A cappella group MO5AIC honored with two CARA Award nominations
Recording group’s newest EP garners recognition in the pop/rock category
Las Vegas based a cappella recording group MO5AIC is taking the music industry by storm after recently being nominated for two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA) this year.
MO5AIC is nominated for Best Pop/Rock Album for the group’s recently released EP 5 and Best Pop/Rock Song for “I Gotta Feeling” featured on 5. Winners of the CARAs will be announced on April 13, in Boston at Boston Sings, a three day a cappella festival.
The group won in both of these categories in 2009 for the album Will Sing For Food. MO5AIC continues to gain success as they tour the country bringing their incredibly talented voices to a cappella lovers and music fans alike.
Founded by bass vocalist Josh Huslig in 2002, the group formed into a five-man, multi-ethnic, vocal collaboration that is taking its purely vocal approach to the mainstream. Huslig is joined by members Heath Burgett, Corwyn Hodge, Jake Moulton and Roopak Ahuja. MO5AIC combines the musical styles of funk, pop, rock and jazz to create something truly unique. Merging style with innovation, MO5AIC will leave you scratching your head wondering where the “band” is being hidden. Every sound is being produced by the human voice – from the guitar riffs and funky bass lines to the ambient rhythms and complex chord textures. The group is known for having shared the stage with numerous entertainers including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Jay Leno, the Pussycat Dolls and Donny Osmond. The group was named “The Next Great A Cappella Group” as selected by Boys II Men on the CBS Early Show in 2007 and MTV’s Top Pop Group in 2008.
