ALS of Nevada to Hold Eighth Annual “Food is Art”
Charitable Event at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower
ALS of Nevada is set to host its eighth annual “Food is Art” charity fundraiser poolside at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower’s newly renovated pool, Swim & Social. Guests of the “party with a cause” will come together to experience cuisine from world-class chefs, refreshing cocktails and live entertainment while raising funds to support ALS of Nevada’s mission, from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22.
“Food is Art” will feature small bites from The STRAT’s Top of the World, CHĪ Asian Kitchen and PT’s Wings & Sports, as well as local restaurants such as River Rock Pizza & Pasta, Harlo Steakhouse & Bar, Esther’s Kitchen, La Neta Cocina y Lounge and Pinkbox Doughnuts, among others. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy spirits tastings from Patrón, Frey Ranch and Tito’s Handmade Vodka; signature cocktails; and live entertainment provided by comedic magician, Farrell Dillon, and party rock band, Yacht & Roll.
“We are thrilled to bring our community together in support of those in Nevada that have been affected by an ALS diagnosis,” said Dawn Newburg, executive director of ALS of Nevada. “There is no other event in Las Vegas like “Food is Art,” and once you experience it, you will understand why it is called the best “party with a cause.””
The event will also include live and silent actions, with items including staycations, trips to Napa, California and the Caribbean, spa packages, original artwork, cooking classes, restaurant gift certificates and much more.
All proceeds from “Food is Art” will assist the non-profit organization in its mission to serve all persons and their families living with and battling ALS in Nevada. ALS of Nevada provides much-needed programs and services that offer emotional, physical and financial assistance, including support groups, medical equipment loan and purchase, multidisciplinary clinics, transportation services and more.
