CHAMPIONSHIP CHOCOLATE MASTERPIECE
Larger-Than-Life Creation Features 280 Pounds of Chocolate, Fondant and Sugar
ARIA Resort & Casino is celebrating Las Vegas’ first professional sports team and reigning WNBA Champions with the spectacular Las Vegas Aces Championship display. The ARIA Patisserie window unveils the pastry art creation ahead of the team’s first regular season home game on Saturday, May 27 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
The display includes superstar players Kelsey Plum, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young; a massive basketball; wood-planked flooring; the iconic Las Vegas skyline; and more, all made from edible ingredients. Conceptualized by Executive Pastry Chef Mathieu Lavallee and the ARIA Pastry team, the handmade art was produced using 100 pounds of chocolate, 100 pounds of fondant and 80 pounds of sugar. From initial creative vision meetings through final installation it took five team members 92 hours to complete.
“ARIA Patisserie is known for creating masterful pieces of edible art to celebrate holidays or commemorate important moments in the city,” said ARIA Executive Pastry Chef Mathieu Lavallee. “This spring, we wanted to honor the Las Vegas Aces and the joy and energy they bring to our community.
