Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) will host the first “Every Piggy Counts” Pig Out event of the year on Saturday, March 8 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. during the Farmers Market at Tivoli Village.

The community is invited to adopt a ceramic piggy bank and fatten them up throughout the year to benefit AFAN. Piggy owners empty their pigs at quarterly “Pig Out” events and receive prizes, leading up to the final Pig Out on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.

Each piggy comes with a paint pen and can be decorated, painted or bedazzled to fit in at home or at the office. People also have the option to adopt piggys already designed by select art students from Las Vegas Academy. Baby piggy banks are available for children as a fun way to teach about fundraising.

Pigs are always available for adoption at the AFAN offices at 1120 Almond Tree Lane.
