Credit One Bank Looks Back on a Year of Exceptional Community Support

Granting $1,750,000 to 23 charities in Southern Nevada

Credit One Bank, a leader in the credit card industry headquartered in Las Vegas, is dedicated to serving and giving back to the Southern Nevada community through donations of time, resources and funding. This year, Credit One Bank participated in several initiatives to support local charities that support the Bank’s primary areas of outreach which are Affordable Housing & Homelessness, Employment Services, and Financial Education.

Credit One Bank granted over $1,750,000 to 23 organizations in Southern Nevada in 2020. The grants ranged from $10,000 to $140,000. Organizations that benefitted from the funds included the Academy of Finance at Clark High School, HELP of Southern Nevada, Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree, U.S. VETS – Las Vegas and 18 others. Since 2004, Credit One Bank has provided over $10 million in direct support to Las Vegas nonprofits.

In addition to the 20% of Credit One Bank’s senior management team members who serve as board members with local nonprofits, employees at every level of the company participated in fundraising and volunteer initiatives throughout the year. The Las Vegas headquarters team served hundreds of meals at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, donated blood multiple times through Vitalant, made direct contributions of money and school supplies to Communities in Schools of Nevada, and volunteered with Safe Nest, the American Cancer Society, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, the Raiders Foundation and many other local nonprofits. In addition, employees collected 70 bikes, eight bins of toys and over $2,100 in cash for the 22nd annual 98.5 KLUC Chet Buchanan Show Toy Drive to benefit HELP of Southern Nevada during this holiday season.

“Credit One Bank believes that doing well and doing good are not mutually exclusive and we seek to demonstrate that every chance we get,” said John Coombe, senior vice president of marketing at Credit One Bank. “Our leadership team has made it clear that while Credit One Bank serves customers from all across the country, we are a Las Vegas company first. This means that not only are we in this community, but also of it. So, volunteering and giving back is in our DNA.”
