Cure 4 The Kids Foundation Kicks-Off The “Keep It Local $100,000 Challenge” During September – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Donations can be made to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation at cure4thekids.org/donate

This September, residents of Southern Nevada will likely be asked to donate to childhood cancer causes at retail outlets, in television ads and through other means. While the intention is admirable, some and possibly none of those funds will ever help a child in Southern Nevada.

For that reason, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (C4K) is asking that you consider “keeping it local” during Childhood Cancer Awareness month by donating to C4K so that Southern Nevada children battling cancer are the ones to benefit from your charitable gift.

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is Southern Nevada’s only pediatric cancer and rare disease treatment center and accepts ALL patients from Nevada and nearby states diagnosed with cancer – whether they have medical insurance or not. Donations given to national childhood cancer causes do not benefit C4K and do not provide funds to cover the cost of treatment for children in Southern Nevada.

There are several ways you can donate to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation:

“Since 2007, we have been the beacon of hope for families affected by childhood cancer who can receive the treatment that will save their life in their hometown,” said Annette Logan-Parker, Founder and CEO, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. “We’ve found that many people who support childhood cancer causes believe a portion of funds given to national childhood cancer organizations somehow will benefit our facility. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. We want people to know when they donate to C4K, those funds help children here in Southern Nevada.”

Cure 4 The Kids Foundation is a proud member of the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s leading organization of childhood cancer physicians and treatment centers. Because of this affiliation, C4K is the only treatment center in Southern Nevada that can provide patients with access to promising clinical trials which often lead the way to better and more successful treatments.

During an average year, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation will provide approximately 5,000 patient visits to children affected by cancer or rare diseases. Virtually every board-certified pediatric hematologist oncologist currently in the State of Nevada is employed at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation providing Joint Commission-accredited quality medical treatment to those in need. C4K’s Charity Care Program ensures that every child in need of pediatric cancer or rare disease treatment receives it.
