NATIONAL PROSECCO DAY, AUG. 13
Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar invites guests to raise a toast to the remaining days of the summer with National Prosecco Day on Friday, Aug. 13. With the purchase of any entrée, guests dining at Ferraro’s will receive a tasting pour of Prosecco.
With its sweet taste and light aroma, Prosecco is a sparkling wine produced in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions of Italy. It is also the most-sold sparkling wine in the United States. Prosecco is known for its “mousse,” the small layer of bubbles that rest at the top.
Prosecco is usually served chilled and in a tulip glass. It is often served as a pre-dinner drink and it goes well with a variety of entrées, particularly with medium-intensity foods like chicken, tofu, shrimp and pork. It may also be used to make mimosas, the popular brunch beverage combining sparkling wine and orange juice.
