FIRST TASTE: LIBERTINE SOCIAL PREVIEWS NEXT-GENERATION GASTROPUB MENU AT DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS’ FIRST FRIDAY
Libertine Social will preview its highly anticipated gastropub menu Friday, July 1 at Downtown Las Vegas’ First Friday. Mandalay Bay’s soon-to-be hotspot will provide a glimpse into the mind-expanding flavors James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain has in store for guests such as merguez sausages served with chickpeas and chermoula. First Friday attendees will be the first to experience Libertine Social’s menu by Chef McClain.
Libertine Social will serve the following dishes from its own retrofitted food truck:
- Lamb Merguez Sausage with chickpeas and chermoula
- Warm Pretzels with Alpine cheese sauce
- Belgian Fries with garlic aioli
- Oxtail Sandwich with sweet and sour onions, arugula, citrus gremolata
The upcoming First Friday will be the only opportunity to taste Libertine Social’s cuisine before the doors open late this summer.
Libertine Social will stimulate the senses with New American bar food by the renowned chef and a pioneering cocktail program by Modern Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim. A combination of both small and large plates, the menu will have a foodie flair reflecting McClain’s aptness for blending the freshest ingredients in unexpected preparation methods. House-made grilled sausages, artisanal flatbreads, a selection of creative toasts and dips, seasonal salads, dry-aged steaks and cocktail-inspired desserts are just some of the selections McClain has up his sleeve.

Chef Shawn McClain is teaming up with renowned mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim for Mandalay Bay’s soon-to-be-hotspot, Libertine Social. The next-generation gastropub will feature a range of atmospheres from an uber-social center bar to a more secluded classic cocktail room that encourage guests to eat, drink and embrace the Libertine spirit. The eclectic design will capture the abandon and passion of the restaurant, complete with a stunning mural by famed Puerto Rican artist Alexis Diaz.
