Chickie’s & Pete’s inside SAHARA Las Vegas Launches “Fly, Cheesesteak, Fly” Food Challenge
On Thursday, Sept. 4, Chickie’s & Pete’s inside SAHARA Las Vegas officially launched its over-the-top “Fly, Cheesesteak, Fly” Food Challenge. Competitive eaters and local food lovers were invited to attempt the challenge: conquering a two-foot-long Philly cheesesteak weighing three pounds, plus two pounds of the brand’s world-famous Crabfries®—all within 45 minutes.
The challenge costs $100 to enter, but those who finish it walk away victorious with their money back, a commemorative “It Hurts So Good!” T-shirt (a nod to Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts) and their photo enshrined on the restaurant’s Wall of Fame
During the launch event, Las Vegas-based competitive eater Raina Huang successfully beat the challenge, with 28 minutes to spare.
Originating in Philadelphia, Chickie’s & Pete’s has become a cult-favorite destination for bold flavors and diehard sports fans alike. The SAHARA Las Vegas location doubles as the ultimate football viewing hub with more than 50 massive TVs, a state-of-the-art sound system and a fully integrated William Hill Sportsbook.
“You don’t just watch football at Chickie’s & Pete’s–you live it,” said Lee Lardner, general manager of Chickie’s & Pete’s at SAHARA Las Vegas. “With giant screens, bold bites and the wildest food challenge on the Las Vegas Strip, it’s where fans go all in on game day.”
