Bold New Bites for the Summer Season

La Mona Rosa, a vibrant Mexico City-inspired eatery in the heart of Fremont East in Downtown Las Vegas at 100 S 6th St., has unveiled seasonal brunch and dinner dishes. Created by the talented executive chef duo of Daniel Arias and Isidro Marquez-Castillo, the new selections celebrate the depth and diversity of Mexican culinary traditions and reflect seasonal ingredients and flavors.
New brunch offerings include the decadent churro French toast, made with thick-cut Texas toast coated in cinnamon sugar and topped with dulce de leche caramel, passion fruit gelée and a delicate coconut espuma, priced at $15; and tres lechés pancakes, a duo of corn and flour pancakes finished with fresh strawberries, tres lechés espuma and rich piloncillo caramel, priced at $15.
Also new to the menu, available for both brunch and dinner, are beef birria tacos made with shredded, slow-braised prime chuck layered with melted Mexican cheese, roasted green salsa and crispy pork chicharrónes, served alongside a traditional consommé, priced at $18; and the grilled chicken álambre featuring a juicy chicken thigh, sautéed bell peppers and onions, melted cheese and green tomatillo sauce, garnished with radish and served with corn tortillas, priced at $24. Other additions include crispy chicken flautas, priced at $18, filled with jidori chicken and topped with iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, salsa verde cruda, sour cream and queso fresco and a classic chicken quesadilla, folded in a flour tortilla with melted cheese and served with guacamole and sour cream, priced at $18.
As the sun sets, La Mona Rosa’s dinner menu continues the celebration of a regional flavor with an array of new small plates and entrées that highlight the vibrant ingredients and bold spices of Mexico. Guests can start with blistered shishito peppers, tossed in a zesty lime dressing and finished with morita chili salt for a smoky kick, priced at $8; or the seasonal house salad, a refreshing mix of organic spring greens with tamarind dressing, orange segments, raisins, pecans, Granny Smith apples and arbol chili salt, with the option to add chicken, shrimp or steak, priced starting at $14.
New shareables include the pico papalonas, which offer a playful twist on loaded fries, topped with spicy aioli, cotjia cheese, pico de gallo and parsley oil, priced at $12. The charred esquites, elevates classic street corn with flame-kissed kernels, bell peppers, onions, chipotle mayo, cotija cheese, morita chili salt and fragrant epazote, priced at $14. Heartier dishes include the carnitas, made with citrus-braised pork shoulder served with pico de gallo, salsa verde cruda and crispy pork chicharrónes alongside warm corn tortillas, priced at $30. The chefs’ signature shrimp al mojo, rounds out the offerings with shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic sauce with shallots, poblano peppers and Mexican beer, served with a crisp corn tostada and smoky salsa macha, priced at $24.
Created by Corner Bar Management La Mona Rosa is open for brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly with happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 to 7 p.m. Friday through Saturday.
