LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL NOW TAKING SUBMISSIONS FOR COMMUNITY-BASED MURAL AT DOUG SELBY PARK

Calling all local Las Vegas artists! Life is Beautiful is partnering with the City of Las Vegas to launch a community-based mural project to be featured at The Doug Selby Park in Ward 3. With design submissions open from now until May 17, up to four artists will be selected to contribute to the large-scale mural. The public art project is one of Life is Beautiful’s latest efforts to support the beautification of Las Vegas.
Highlighting Ward 3’s deep ties to both the festival and its surrounding residents, project organizers are asking artists to create a mural that answers the question: what makes life beautiful?
“Life is Beautiful was created to celebrate creativity and serve Las Vegas in ways that resonate with our community members,” said Samantha Rayburn, Associate Director of VIP & Festival Experience. “We are excited to invite local artists to feature their works alongside each other, and we can’t wait to see what ‘Beautiful’ means to others.”
Winning designs should be vibrant, colorful, and feature nods to the neighborhood’s strong Latin roots.Submissions will be accepted until May 17, 2022, and selected artists will be notified by May 24, 2022. Installation is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2022. Artists can submit their work HERE.
“Community art really brings our neighborhoods together, and I cannot wait to see what our local artists create,” said Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz. “Life is Beautiful is a fabulous partner, and we thank them for their investment in Ward 3.”
Through its partnership with the women-led art curator group Justkids, Life is Beautiful has contributed to the culture of Las Vegas since 2013, turning its streets into an open art museum featuring some of the greatest and most prominent local, national and global artists. This year’s festival will continue to revitalize the Downtown area with new art experiences for the attendees to enjoy and a fresh perspective for the community.
Featuring headlining sets from performers including Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Calvin Harris and more, tickets for Life is Beautiful 2022 are currently on sale and can be purchased at www.lifeisbeautiful.com.
