MIRACLE MILE SHOPS COLLECTS FOUNTAIN DONATIONS FOR NEVADA PEP IN HONOR OF BULLYING PREVENTION
As part of its Caring, Giving, Changing community campaign, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will collect donations in its fountain throughout September for Nevada PEP, the statewide nonprofit offering education and encouragement to families of children with disabilities.
In honor of Nevada PEP’s anti-bully campaign, change tossed in Miracle Mile Shops’ fountain as well as the center’s indoor rainstorm will be donated to the nonprofit in time for National Bully Prevention Month in October. For more than twenty years, Nevada PEP has empowered families to be life-long advocates for their children through education and skill building. Nevada PEP provides a variety of workshops on special education and disability-related topics that help families develop a support system and meet their children’s needs.
To kickoff Bully Prevention Month, Nevada PEP will host its second Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying, a 5k run and 1.5k fun walk, on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. in Summerlin. Registration is $35 for 5k participants and $20 for 1.5k participants and includes a complimentary T-shirt. Miracle Mile Shops’ partnership with Nevada PEP is part of the center’s Caring, Giving, Changing campaign, celebrating a year of change in 2013. In addition to monthly fountain fundraisers, the Caring, Giving, Changing campaign also raises funds for other programs and organizations through community sponsorships, additional partnerships and a number of cash and in-kind donations. In previous months, Miracle Mile Shops teamed up with The Shade Tree (January), Goodie Two Shoes Foundation (February), March of Dimes (March), Easter Seals Nevada (April), Dress For Success Southern Nevada (May), WestCare Nevada (June), USO Las Vegas (July) and Communities In Schools of Nevada (August). Other organizations receiving fountain fundraisers as part of the community outreach campaign include: United Way of Southern Nevada Women’s Leadership Council (October), the Nevada Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (November) and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (December).
