On Thursday, Jan. 19, Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino welcomed representatives from various local and national nonprofit organizations to the center to celebrate and kick off its 2012 Caring, Giving, Changing fundraising and community outreach campaign.

Attendees started their morning with a special breakfast catered by PBR Rock Bar & Grill. Following opening remarks from Miracle Mile Shops President and General Manager Russ Joyner, Angel Williams, director of community relations and business development at Miracle Mile Shops, shared the center’s 2011 community outreach results, recognized Miracle Mile Shops’ charitable partners and merchants and celebrated the Caring Giving Changing nonprofit partners for 2012.

Following the breakfast, Joyner, Williams and representatives from United Way of Southern Nevada, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Golden Rainbow, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure ®, Aid for AIDS of Nevada, Communities In Schools of Nevada, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson and American Heart Association gathered at the fountain for a ceremonial coin toss.

Miracle Mile Shops aims to raise more than $100,000 over the course of a year during its 2012 Caring, Giving, Changing campaign through monthly fountain fundraisers, community sponsorships, partnerships and a number of cash and in-kind donations.

The year of Caring, Giving, Changing began on January 1 with a month-long fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, donating all change tossed into Miracle Mile Shops’ fountain as well as the center’s indoor rainstorm to the children’s charity. Other organizations receiving a fountain fundraiser as part of Miracle Mile Shops’ 2012 Caring, Giving, Changing campaign include American Heart Association (February), National Multiple Sclerosis Society (March), Autism Speaks (April), Communities In Schools of Nevada (May), Aid for AIDS of Nevada (June), Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas (July), Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson (August), Shriners Hospitals for Children (September), the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G.
