NASCAR Sprint Cup Hauler Parade – Wednesday, March 5
Kicking off NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas, South Point Hotel hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup haulers as they depart from South Point making their way up Las Vegas Boulevard to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. Guests will get the first look at the racing teams as they gear up for one of Las Vegas’ most exciting events. NASCAR Autograph Signing – Thursday, March 6
Brendan Gaughan, driver of the South Point Chevy #62 for Richard Childress Racing, and fellow NASCAR drivers Ryan Newman, Brian Scott and Ty Dillon will take over South Point Hotel for a special autograph signing to jump start Las Vegas NASCAR Week on March 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. Guests can capture the moment on camera while the famous race car drivers sign autographs and poses with fans. Cavalry Days – Friday, March 7
South Point Arena celebrates Military history with a free exhibition from the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR), one of the most storied units in the United States Army, during Cavalry Days on Friday, March 7 at 1 p.m. Doors open at noon for a special meet and greet with the riders and horses. Immediately following the meet and greet, the 11th ACR will demonstrate honorable traditions of the American Cavalry by showcasing a variety of pistol demonstrations to display the art of weaponry used throughout Military history. In addition, the cavalry will showcase the unique visual of how mounted horsemen once used a Cavalry Saber, their primary piece of weaponry. Silver Dollar Circuit Quarter Horse Show – March 17 – 23
The South Point Equestrian Center showcases some of the country’s finest quarter horses during the 38th Annual Silver Dollar Circuit Quarter Horse Show Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March, 23. In addition to viewing premier equestrian disciplines and techniques, guests will have the opportunity to visit an assortment of vendors highlighting the many facets of Western culture. Some of the most recognized quarter horse circuit names in the country, such as Will Knabenshue, Stephanie Lynn, Curtis Reynolds, Bruce Walquist, Judd Paul and Steve Meadows, will participate during the judging of the horse show. March to the Championship Party “Hoops Heaven” – March 20 – 22
The South Point Grand Ballroom will transform into “Hoops Heaven” Thursday, March 20 – Saturday, March 22 kicking off the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Guests will have the ultimate spot in Las Vegas to watch college basketball as South Point offers on-site wagering stations and free chair massages, while viewing every game simultaneously. In addition, bonus wagering information will be provided by professionals from SportingNews.com and “The Linemakers.” Throughout the tournament, basketball fanatics can enjoy a variety of food and drink specials, including $16 buckets of Budweiser beers; $4 Sky Vodka and Patron cocktails. Adding to the excitement, guests will have the opportunity to go head-to-head against former NCAA and NBA stars in the “Celebrity Free Throw Contest” on the Findlay Free Throw Court. Glass Craft and Bead Expo – March 28 – 30
America’s largest glass tradeshow returns to the South Point Arena Friday, March 28 – Sunday, March 30. The expo transforms South Point into a one-stop shop for the best glass and bead artwork education in the country. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in classes, interact with the best glass craft and beadwork instructors, view a variety of vendors and partake in exciting events throughout the weekend. The Glass Craft and Bead Expo will begin Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. Tickets are $15 for General Admission and $12 for seniors and Military members. NRCHA Stallion Stakes and Western Gift Show – March 30 – April 5
The National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) “Stallion Stakes” event returns to South Point Arena Sunday, March 30 – Sunday, April 5. Throughout the week, fans will enjoy the cultural experience of the largest working cow horse events for four and five year old horses. This event is free and open to the public.
