SPARTANS INVADE ELLER MEDIA STADIUM THIS WEEKEND
UNLV and San Jose State kick off key conference battle Friday at 6 p.m.
UNLV is back to conference play with eight games left in the regular season. The Rebels host San José State at Eller Media Stadium for a three-game series this weekend.
The Spartans and Rebels are seventh and eighth in the Mountain West standings, respectively. They are battling for a coveted top-six finish in order to qualify for the conference’s postseason tournament.
Ariana Martinez leads the UNLV offense. Martinez is the Mountain West leader in home runs, RBIs, total bases and walks. She’ll face off against SJSU ace Jenessa Ullegue, who ranks fourth in the Mountain West with a 2.89 ERA in conference games.
The first game of the series begins at 6 p.m. PT. It will be broadcast live locally on the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2 / Cox 125) and streamed on the Mountain West Network.
Saturday’s first pitch is at 3 p.m. Sunday’s game begins at noon.
