Positive Mental Attitude.  This is the mantra that is not only a driving force for Raleigh, North Carolina based Alesana, but also a way of life.  Celebrating ten years as a band, the pop-metal sextet is always in high spirits and accustomed to playing their hearts out every night when on the road.  Countless US tours, several trips around the world, and six major releases later, Alesana is living proof that hard work and dedication dreams can go a long, long way.
Newly inked to Raleigh based Revival Recordings, the band is slated to release the conclusion to their Annabel trilogy in the fall of 2014.  The yet-to-named album will be produced by Alesana’s own Shawn Milke and engineered by Neil Engle at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Released in December of 2013, the stand-alone single Fatima Rusalka progressed the band’s conceptual trilogy and served as a bridge to their forthcoming full length release, the final piece of a three-part story.  The song does what can only be expected of the storytelling rock machine which is to draw from past influences while incorporating new possibilities, dynamics, and sonic exploration.
Having spent time on Tragic Hero Records, Fearless Records, and Epitaph Records, Alesana’s entire catalogue of Try This With Your Eyes Closed, On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, Where Myth Fades To Legend, The Emptiness, and A Place Where The Sun Is Silent has charted on the Billboard Top 200.
Alesana’s latest release The Decade EP is now available on iTunes via Artery Recordings.

Megosh Premiere Music Video for “Body Works” on ARTISTdirect

Progressive indie rock band Megosh premiered the official music video for their song “Body Works” on ARTISTdirect today. The song is off their new EP of the same name that was released via Revival Recordings and is available on iTunes. The video was directed by Justin Reich and the song (and whole EP) was produced by Shawn Milke guitarist/vocalist for Alesana and owner of Revival Recordings.
“I would love to just sum up the meaning of the song by saying it’s about promiscuous sex, however there’s more to it than that!” says vocalist/guitarist Josh Grosscup. “We’ve all had someone from our past who strayed from the moral path and might have even dragged us down a little with them. In this case, the girl in this story takes advantage of a less promiscuous partner. The song showcases the hesitance and guilt that follows.”
Megosh are currently on the “Crash Your Couch Tour” with The Dear Hunter…sort of. The unique concept involves Megosh following The Dear Hunter’s tour around the East coast and Midwest, where they will perform for fans as they wait in line. Rumor has it there will be some extra surprises, as well. After the show(s), Megosh will perform intimate acoustic sets in the homes of fans.

Forged from the bone-metal of ancient dragons, Megosh rises, and the gods tremble…
Baltimore’s Megosh has been toiling behind the scenes for some time brewing up a catalog of high-energy intelligent rock. Their music is melodic with post-progressive elements and frequent forays into the territory of alternative metal, but they manage to maintain an overriding pop sensibility. Megosh somehow fuses these eclectic ingredients into a surprisingly cohesive stew, a sound that is clearly their own. Impressively complex instrumental material will certainly appeal to the musician but, with Megosh, song-craft still reigns, highlighted by their creative use of rhythm and catchy melodies which are certain to captivate a wide audience.  On top of all this, the front line serves up tasty three-part harmonies- something rarely heard on today’s rock scene.
Megosh recently inked a deal with North Carolina based Revival Recordings and released their debut EP entitled “Body Works” on April 1, 2014.  The band will be touring across the US in March/April 2014 with Alesana and Get Scared on The Decade Tour, including a stop on the prestigious South By South West music festival in Austin, Texas.
