Boozy Fun, Craveable Eats and Street Festival Vibes will Take Over the Strip August 30
It;s not just a party; it’s a full-on flavor takeover. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is turning up the volume on the Strips culinary scene with its first-ever Block Party on Saturday, August 30 from 12-4 p.m. inside its iconic Block 16 Urban Food Hall – the destination that launched the city’s food hall movement.
The Block Party will bring together all Block 16 eateries for one high-energy afternoon featuring an all-star lineup of chefs, exclusive bites, live DJ beats, spirit tastings, custom merch, one-of-a-kind activations and some saucy surprises – including the not-so-innocent debut of Naughty Patty’s, the resort’s highly anticipated burger joint. From frozen cocktails to fried chicken, donuts to dirty fries, it will be the flavor festival you didn’t know you needed. A portion of proceeds from select experiences will benefit the MGM Resorts Foundation.
Block 16 has always been about craveable dishes, big personalities and creating a space where culinary creativity shines, said Jessica Somple, Vice President of Food & Beverage at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. When The Cosmopolitan launched Block 16, it set out to redefine casual dining on the Strip – and the Block Party is our way of celebrating how far it’s come. With the debut of Naughty Pattys and so many one-of-a-kind experiences, it’ll be a flavor-packed afternoon you won’t want to miss.
BLOCK PARTY BITES & SIPS
- Naughty Patty’s. Naughty Patty’s will make her mouthwatering debut at the Block Party as The Cosmopolitans bold new burger babe with a menu dreamed up to serve serious flavor with a side of trouble. With buns that don’t quit, juicy smash burgers, dirty fries and frozen custard Concretes, Patty’s here to play. For her grand entrance, guests can get an exclusive Concrete, The After Party, featuring cherry pie filling, brownie bites, toasted pecans, crushed waffle cone and chocolate (with a portion of the proceeds going to the MGM Resorts Foundation), strike a pose with cheeky photo cutouts, and score a free Dive-In Movie pass with any purchase. She=’s messy, a little wild and impossible to forget – just how you like it.
- Hattie B’s Hot Chicken. This Nashville legend is still bringing the heat in Vegas with its spicy tenders, wings and deep-fried hospitality. Known for flavor that hits from Southern (no heat) to Shut the Cluck Up (if you dare), this family run favorite pairs perfectly seasoned chicken with scratch-made Southern sides and a lot of personality. At the Block Party, guests can get a sneak peek of the all-new Southern Salad (launching this month), try special menu items, grab some Hattie Bs Pop Rocks, and turn up the fire with an original hot sauce activation.
- District: Donuts. Sliders. Brew. A New Orleans original that brings soul and sugar in equal measure, District is known for its over-the-top craft donuts (with more than 100 rotating flavors), savory sliders and an epic coffee program. From craveable beignets to their viral chicken biscuit, every bite is a love letter to indulgence. For the Block Party, guests can enjoy its sweet treats, special menu items and a Make-Your-Own-Donut experience that lets you play donut designer for the day.
- Tekka Bar: Handroll & Sake. A Vegas-born favorite and one of the first on the Strip to popularize hand rolls, Tekka has sold nearly 1.5 million rolls since opening. Known for its bold flavors, Tekka keeps fans coming back with fan-favorite selections, weekly specials and collabs with chefs like José Andrés and David Chang. For the Block Party, Tekka will give guests a rare behind-the-counter moment with a Make-Your-Own-Roll experience, letting you step into the sushi spotlight and roll like a pro.
- Bang Bar by Momofuku. Created by Chef David Chang, Bāng Bar is a fast, flavor-forward hotspot known for its spit-roasted meats, incredible sauces and chewy, addictive bāng bread served in wraps, bowls and salads – all with Changs global flavor twists and signature heat. For the Block Party, guests can catch the action up close with a live vertical rotisserie display, special menu items and interactive guest moments that bring the bold to the block.
- Lardo. From a solo Portland food cart to a cult-favorite sandwich shop, Chef Rick Gencarelli built Lardo on hustle, vibrant flavors and unapologetically stacked creations. Known for over-the-top eats like the Porchetta sandwich and Dirty Fries, Lardo turns indulgence into an art form. For the Block Party, guests can sink their teeth into limited-time sandwich specials available exclusively at the event.
- Ghost Donkey. Ghost Donkey brings fiesta energy with its colorful décor, mezcal-forward cocktails and a deep lineup of artisanal Mexican spirits. For the Block Party, this hidden gem will open its doors for special event hours, fire up its frozen cocktail machine and roam the party with the Find the Donkey mobile cocktail cart, serving up boozy mezcal magic all afternoon long.
BLOCK PARTY SWAG
- Merch Booth. A curated collection of Block 16 merchandise will be displayed in a music festival-inspired setup. Think bold visuals, open-air racks, and a grab-and-go vibe that invites guests to browse, shop, and rep their favorite brands from the block. Exclusive Block Party tote bags will be available for sale and will benefit the MGM Resorts Foundation.
The Block Party is not only a celebration of flavor – it’s a celebration of community, creativity and culinary culture on the Strip. In addition to all the action in and around Block 16 proper, additional restaurant and retail outlets on Level 2 of Boulevard Tower will be extra neighborly with exciting activations of their own. The event is free to attend with complimentary samples available throughout the event. Guests can also purchase additional food, drinks and exclusive merchandise to keep the flavor – and fun – going all afternoon.
