THE PUNK ROCK MUSEUM ANNOUNCES SUMMER PROGRAMMING,
JULY PUNK ROCK TOUR GUIDES

The Punk Rock Museum announces summer programming, including book signings with eminent punk rock figures as well as special guest performances, and the lineup of July punk rock tour guides.

Book Reading and Signing with Jack Grisham of T.S.O.L.
On Wednesday, June 14, Jack Grisham of T.S.O.L. will be doing a special book reading and signing of “True Stories: A Loose Collection of Flash Fiction” at 5:30 p.m. “True Stories” is Grisham’s latest artistic endeavor. For those unfamiliar with his work, Grisham is a prolific artist, morphing back and forth from a disturbing to an enlightening storyteller. Signed copies of “True Stories” will be available for purchase. In addition, Grisham will also lead guided tours from Tuesday, June 13 through Thursday, June 15.

KJ Jansen from Chixdiggit! and Grant Lawrence from The Smugglers Present the “Canadian Connection” at The Punk Rock Museum
From Thursday, June 22 to Friday, June 23, KJ Jansen from Chixdiggit! will be visiting from Calgary, Alberta, to lead guided punk tours at 1:30 and 4 p.m. On Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, Jansen will also team up with Grant Lawrence from The Smugglers to double down on the guided tour action for what the museum is calling the “Canadian Connection.” Tours with both Jansen and Lawrence will take place at 1:30 and 4 p.m. In addition, Chixdiggit! is also rumored to play a few songs in the Pennywise rehearsal space on Friday, June 23 at 6 p.m.

Lastly, Lawrence will be doing a reading from his book “Dirty Windshields” on Saturday, June 24 at 6 p.m. In “Dirty Windshields,” Lawrence chronicles the band’s booze-fueled, sweaty, broke and wayward attempts at rock and roll glory as they trekked across Canada, the United States and eventually Europe and the Pacific Rim.

In their 16 years of touring, The Smugglers experienced all the highs and lows the road can offer, from playing a gig at New York’s legendary CBGB club to starting a riot in a Denver nightclub, having their performance tuxes stolen in Australia and more. Through the fights, sexual misadventures, new friendships, dance contests and mayhem, the band grew up together on the road. Told with Lawrence’s signature self-deprecating wit, the anecdotes develop into a compelling story of the growth of an independent, do-it-yourself touring band, a community and a musical movement. Copies of “Dirty Windshields” will also be available for purchase at the museum during the signing.

Book Reading and Signing with Blag Dahlia from Dwarves
Rock Legend and author Blag Dahlia of Dwarves will read from his new transgressive novel “Highland Falls” on Tuesday, July 4 at 5 p.m. In addition, Dahlia will lead guided tours from Tuesday, July 4 to Thursday, July 6. Dahlia will share history, insights and dirty stories from his forty years making underground music, while giving his unique perspective on the treasures and travesties on display. Juicy anecdotes, gossip and outright lies are guaranteed.
