The UNLV men’s basketball team, which has won five of its last six games and is all alone in third place in the Mountain West, will head to Logan, Utah, to face Utah State on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. MST/1 p.m. PST.

UNLV hasn’t played since defeating Wyoming, 48-46, at home last Saturday. In addition to winning five of its last six games, the Runnin’ Rebels have also won six of eight and 13 of their last 17.

This will be the second meeting in the regular season this year between the Aggies and Runnin’ Rebels. UNLV won the first meeting, 62-42, on Jan. 22 at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Runnin’ Rebels held Utah State, who is the third-best outside shooting team in the country, to just 30.8 percent from the field and 2-for-17 from 3-point range in that game. Only four times in the past 20 years has UNLV held opponents to fewer than 42 points and it was Utah State’s lowest scoring game since 1999.

UNLV is 7-4 in MW play, two games behind second-place New Mexico and one-half game ahead of Nevada, Reno, while Utah State is tied for seventh in the league at 5-7. Saturday’s game against the Aggies will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan and Pete Gillen calling the action. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the radio call, which may be heard on ESPN Radio 1100/98.9 FM. The radio broadcast listen link along with Gametracker are available at UNLVRebels.com.

The Runnin’ Rebels are fourth in the nation in 3-point field-goal defense, limiting their opponents to just 27.6 percent from behind the arc, are seventh in the country in blocked shots per game at 6.5, are eighth in effective field-goal percentage defense at 43.2 and 12th in rebounding at 40.4 per game. Roscoe Smith leads the country in rebounding (11.6 rpg) and is third in double-doubles (14), while Khem Birch is fourth in the nation in blocked shots (3.58 bpg) and 18th in double-doubles (11).
