Buckles and Barrels for Bailey Charity Barrel Horse Race – Friday, Aug. 31 – Sunday, Sept. 2

The South Point Arena will once again host the Buckles and Barrels for Bailey Charity Barrel Race in the South Point Arena Friday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 2. The charity’s namesake, Bailey Stevens, was born in 2010 and developed a life-threatening bacterial infection that kept her in the Las Vegas Spring Valley Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for her first 108 days. Since Bailey’s birth, her parents have dedicated their lives to raising money to help families dealing with the financial stress of having a terminally ill child. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Because of Bailey Foundation and will provide financial assistance to families with terminally ill children. This event is free and open to the public.

 

High Roller Reining Classic Horse Show and Western Gift Show – Friday, Sept. 7 – Saturday, Sept. 15

The High Roller Reining Classic Horse Show returns to the South Point Arena Friday, Sept. 7 through Saturday, Sept. 15. Since its first appearance at South Point Hotel, the event has grown to be recognized as one of the National Reining Horse Association’s (NRHA) leading worldwide equestrian events. Annually this event brings in riders and horses from around the world to compete and take home a piece of the competition’s $700,000 purse. In addition, guests can purchase Western apparel and equestrian accessories such as tacks and saddles at the Western Gift Show located in the arena concourse. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Andalusian World Cup Horse Show – Wednesday, Sept. 19 – Saturday, Sept. 22

The fifth annual Andalusian World Cup will take over the South Point Arena Wednesday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 22. The world’s finest Spanish horses, trainers and exhibitors will travel from around the world to compete for the chance to win the supreme champion title along with cash prizes, trophies, show saddles and more. Spectators can take in horses and riders competing in classes such as Dressage/Sport Horse in Hand, Halter, Performance, Driving and Working. This event is free and open to the public.

 

PCCHA “Holy Cow Performance Horses” Futurity and Derby Stakes– Thursday, Oct. 4 – Saturday, Oct. 13

The Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association’s (PCCHA) “Holy Cow Performance Horses” Futurity, Cutting Stakes and Classic/Challenge will be held in the South Point Arena Thursday, Oct. 4 through Saturday, Oct. 13. Guests will witness cutting horses compete in Western style competitions while riders battle it out for cash and prizes. See the best of the West’s youth perform in the Latigo Canyon Ranch Invitational as well as non-professionals and amateurs alike compete for high honors and a trophy saddle in the Purina Mills Saddle Series. This event is free and open to the public.

74th Annual California Saddle Horse Futurity – Friday, Oct. 18 – Sunday, Oct. 20

South Point Arena welcomes 74th Annual California Saddlebred Horse Futurity Show Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20. Fans can expect to see excellent equestrian showmanship during an array of performance classes for American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Ponies, Roadsters, Saddle Seat Equitation and Open Pleasure. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Indian National Finals Rodeo & Western Gift Show – Tuesday, Oct. 23 – Saturday, Oct. 27

The South Point Arena welcomes the 43rd annual Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) & Gift Show Tuesday, Oct. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 27. Fans of all ages will witness the best of the best equestrian and bull riders in a variety of competition styles such as bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and much more. Guests will also have the option to shop from different vendors during the Western Gift Show. Tickets for INFR are on sale now and start at $20.

 

National Barrel Horse Association “Dash for Cash” – Friday, Nov. 2 – Sunday, Nov. 4

South Point Arena welcomes the Dash for Cash hosted by the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) Friday, Nov. 2 through Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Priefert Pavilion. Partnering with the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour, Dash for Cash is an event fans will not want to miss. Riders will show off their speed and swiftness while competing for cash prizes to be awarded each day of the event. This event is free and open to the public.

PBR Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour Finals – Friday, Nov. 2 – Saturday, Nov. 3

South Point Arena will host the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour Finals, presented by Professional Bull Riders (PBR), Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3. The event serves as the premier expansion tour for the PBR and brings some of the best competitors in the bull riding industry. Tickets are on sale now and start at $31.

 

PBR Finals Week Western Gift Expo – Friday, Nov. 2 – Saturday, Nov. 10

The PBR Finals Week Western Gift Expo, held in conjunction with all of the PBR events at South Point Arena, Friday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 10 offers PBR fans the ultimate western lifestyle shopping experience. The western expo will offer a large selection of licensed PBR merchandise in the PBR merchandise booth, located at the Gift Expo. The PBR Finals Week Gift Expo will be open Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the South Point Arena Concourse. The Gift Expo will continue Tuesday, Nov. 6 through Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the South Point Arena Concourse and Exhibit Hall during the ABBI World Finals. This event is free and open to the public.

 

American Bucking Bull Association World Finals – Tuesday, Nov. 6 – Friday Nov. 9

The American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI) World Finals return to the South Point Arena showcasing the world’s finest bucking bull stock Tuesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 9. Throughout the event, bull riding enthusiasts have the unique opportunity to witness some of the fiercest bucking bulls from around the country. With each bucking bull competing to win a coveted World Finals title, the event will create a thrilling and unforgettable week of competition. Tickets are $10 per day and go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 4.

 

Las Vegas National CSI4*-W and AON/USHJA Championships – Tuesday, Nov. 13 – Sunday, Nov. 18 – UPDATED

Blenheim Equisports will host the inaugural Aon/USHJA National Championships at the South Point Arena Sunday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 18. The Aon/USHJA National Championships will feature National Hunter Championships for Amateur Owner Hunters, Junior Hunters, Pony Hunters, Green Hunters, Adult Amateur Hunters and Children’s Hunters. Blenheim Equisports will also host the USEF/USFJA National Jumper Championships with eight different competitions along with USHJA Affiliate Championships and USHJA National Equitation Championships for riders 14 and under and those 15 to 17 years of age. In addition, the Las Vegas National CS14* – W will continue to host the FEI classes, the Markel Insurance 1.45m Grand Prix Series Final, the Show Jumping Hall of Fame West Coast Championships and the CPHA Foundation/WCE Equestrians Medal Final. Thanksgiving Shootout Women’s NCAA Division I Basketball – Friday, Nov. 23 – Saturday, Nov. 24

South Point Arena welcomes back the Thanksgiving Shootout Women’s NCCA Division I Basketball tournament Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24. Watch as Division I teams from Southern Illinois, Hartford, Louisville, ASU, Georgetown, Buffalo, San Diego State, and Baylor battle for the champion title. Tickets are $20 per day and are on sale now.

CINCH Ranch Sorting National Championship – Saturday, Nov. 24 – Sunday, Nov. 25

South Point Hotel’s Priefert Pavilion will host the CINCH Ranch Sorting National Championship Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25. The two-day event will showcase the best Ranch Sorting teams from across the United States as competitors compete for cash and prizes valued at $150,000. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Miss Rodeo America Horsemanship Competition – Monday, Dec. 3 – NEW

The Miss Rodeo America Horsemanship Competition will take place at the South Point Priefert Pavilion Arena on Monday, Dec. 3. Reigning State Rodeo Queens will compete for the coveted crown of Miss Rodeo America by competing in the areas of appearance, horsemanship and personality. The Miss Rodeo America Pageant is held annually in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Each contestant is judged on a variety of horsemanship skills deemed essential for fulfilling the duties as Miss Rodeo America. This event is free and open to the public.

 

Benny Binion’s Bucking Horse and Bull Sale – Thursday, Dec. 6 – NEW

South Point Arena welcomes the return of one of the premier events during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, on Thursday, Dec. 6. The Benny Binion Bucking Horse & Bull Sale and the World Futurity Association’s Finale will feature the best two and three-year-old colts in North America that have qualified through the WFA at events across Canada and the United States. All colts bucked in the WFA Futurity Finale will be sold immediately after the futurity event. This year following the event will be the “PRCA Permit Holder of the Year Challenge” featuring the top five PRCA Permit Money Earners from the 2018 Season in All PRCA Rodeo Events, (Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down & Team Roping) in a two round showdown Rodeo Performance Event. During the Bareback, Saddle Bronc, and Bull Riding, everything bucked will be sold during the performance as it is bucked. This is a very high paced, action packed, sale and event unlike any other featuring the future superstar athletes and livestock in the PRCA. Tickets are now on sale and start at $15.

 

CINCH Western Gift Show – Thursday, Dec. 6 – Sunday, Dec. 16 – NEW

The South Point Exhibit Hall will hold the annual CINCH Western Gift Show Thursday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 16. For 10 days, the Cinch Western Gift Show will serve as a one-stop-shop for cowboys, cowgirls and true western lifestyle fans. The Gift Show will feature vendors from all around the country bringing the best in Western lifestyle to South Point. More than 150 vendors will be displaying the best in Western apparel and accessories, tack, leather goods, animal health, ranch and farm equipment, and equestrian related home décor, gifts and jewelry. This event is free and open to the public.

 

World Bronc Futurity – Friday, Dec. 7 – NEW

On Friday, Dec. 7, the top 50 Saddle Bronc competitors in the world will ride the next generation of world champion bucking horses during the World Bronc Futurity in the South Point Arena. Guests of all ages can witness the intensity and excitement as competitors try to stay atop of their horses. All of the bucking horses in the futurity will be sold immediately after they are placed. Tickets for this event will be on sale soon.

 

ARIAT World Series of Team Roping – Sunday, Dec. 9 – Saturday, Dec. 15 – NEW

The ARIAT World Series of Team Roping (WSTR), will take place in the South Point Arena Sunday, Dec. 9-Saturday, Dec. 15. The event began in 2006 as a recreational diversion for cowboys during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and has quickly grown into the richest team roping event in the world. Over 100,000 teams turned out at WSTR qualifiers during the 2018 season and thousands of teams will compete in Las Vegas for over $11 million dollars in purse money. Guests will watch in awe as some of the best team-ropers from across the country compete for the championship titles. This event is free and open to the public.
