Wineaux Welcomes Wine Lovers to Uncork and
Unwind at UnCommons in Late February

Created by James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain,
Master Sommelier Nick Hetzel and Richard and Sarah Camarota, Wineaux will bring a
passionately curated wine bar and retail experience to Las Vegas.

Wineaux, the highly anticipated “wine market, bar and escape” from James Beard Award-winning Chef Shawn McClain, Master Sommelier Nick Hetzel and restaurateurs Richard and Sarah Camarota, will officially open on Saturday, Feb. 24. Located at UnCommons, Southwest Las Vegas’ vibrant new urban campus across from Durango Casino & Resort, Wineaux will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday; and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

“The vision for Wineaux is to embody a warm, sophisticated, playful feeling,” says Sarah Camarota, creative director of McClain Camarota Hospitality McClain Camarota Hospitality. “We want to spark curiosity and make everyone feel at ease, welcoming social sippers, wine aficionados and big-time collectors alike.”

Carefully overseen by Hetzel, a long-time collaborator with McClain and the Camarotas dating back to their collaboration at the iconic restaurant, Sage at Aria, Wineaux’s collection is designed to entice guests to explore and discover great wines, celebrating the best of the classics and finding new personal favorites. It also caters to well-versed wine buyers looking to source rare, allocated selections and special wines for their collections. The entire experience will be guided by Wineaux’s expert staff, whose role is to guide guests through the discovery of new wines, either by the glass or bottle, for any mood, occasion, pairing or price point. The dynamic and diverse collection will range from rare icons such as Egon Müller to new finds like Champagne producer, Jean Josselin.

“We’re excited to bring our vision of what wine exploration and tasting should look and feel like to the local Las Vegas community,” says Hetzel. “Wine can be an overwhelming experience for many people, and our goal is to create an environment that is welcoming to not only the well-versed collectors but also those new to wine collecting.”

Created by McClain, Wineaux’s menu is a celebration of the shareables, snacks and small plates that pair beautifully with wine. Highlights include chilled oysters with cucumber-kosho mignonette; beef tartare with salsa macha and horseradish; a Dungeness crab roll, served on brioche with stone-ground mustard aioli; foie parfait, with a Bordeaux gelee, Asian pear and toasted hazelnuts; and a whimsical almond butter and jelly waffle.

Each bite is crafted to pair with Wineaux’s impressive collection of wines to create an unforgettable culinary experience. Wineaux will also offer a themed monthly Wine Club and curbside pickup service. Select items, such as smoked salmon, charcuterie boards, caviar and cheeses, will be available through counter service for guests looking to grab bites and bottles on the go.

“Wineaux is about creating a lifestyle brand and holistic wine experience. From the retail collection to the food and wines we serve at the bar, we want guests to have a bespoke experience, designed specifically for them,” said McClain. “Whether it’s date night, dropping in with friends, curating your collection or selecting gifts, we want people to stay curious and explore.”

An intimate, boho-chic vibe sets Wineaux apart and establishes it as a truly unique retail and social destination. Wineaux spans 2,500 square feet of mixed retail and bar/lounge space. The interior is adorned with natural woods, layers of stonework and a mix of lounge-style seating, traditional tables and a 10-seat bar. Modern “bubble” chandeliers make a whimsical statement, and the focal point of the space is the Tasting Table, which seats 12, surrounded by multi-tiered presentations of Wineaux’s robust wine collection, all available for purchase. The retail space will also feature chilled bottles of white and sparkling wines. A takeaway counter will feature charcuterie, cheese, caviar and other tasty luxuries guests can grab on-the-go. Wineaux will introduce a 600-square-foot outdoor patio next year.

Wineaux will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday; and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
