Rock and roll history roared to life last night as Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar lit up the stage at Dolby Live at Park MGM, launching the highly anticipated “Best of All Worlds Stays in Vegas” residency with a high-octane celebration of Hagar’s legendary catalog, including the deepest dive yet into his tenure with Van Halen yet.

The packed 5,200-seat venue shook with energy as fans sang every lyric with their hands in the air as Hagar, original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani and legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff tore through a set that was both a tribute to Van Halen’s unmatched legacy and a fiery reminder of Hagar’s own place in rock royalty. Rounding out the powerhouse lineup was multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte on keyboards and backing vocals. Pop renegade Kesha amped up the crowd, joining the band on stage to shred on air guitar alongside Anthony and Hagar with her signature wild energy.

A continuation of their top-grossing “Best of All Worlds” summer tour, which reignited worldwide passion for the Hagar era of Van Halen, the band wasted no time showing why this only in Las Vegas setlist was a masterclass in rock greatness with fan-demanded additions including “Love Walks In,” and Humans Being,” blended with songs that have become anthems for generations of rock fans like, “Best of Both Worlds,” “Right Now,” “Why Can’t This Be Love,” and “5150.” The debut show was a seamless mix of energy, nostalgia, and the undeniable magic that only Hagar’s crew can deliver.

The night started on a fever pitch when the band played their new song, “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.” for the first time to start the show. Written as a personal tribute to Hagar’s years with Van Halen and his bond with the late Eddie Van Halen, the track left the crowd chanting for more as Hagar poured raw emotion into every note, accompanied by a killer guitar solo by Satriani.

“Playing that setlist here tonight, in front of this kind of crowd, was powerful,” said Hagar. “Kicking off our residency with ‘Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.’ with Mikey’s vocals and bass, Joe’s big, emotional guitar work, Kenny’s driving rhythm, the sound from the Dolby and the energy of the fans— that’s the transcendent power of the music we created.”

Custom-built for Dolby Live’s intimate and electric atmosphere, the Best of All Worlds residency gives fans an unfiltered connection to the music that defined a generation. With a new setlist each night, Hagar digs deep into his catalog, dusting off Van Halen deep cuts, solo anthems, and fan favorites that haven’t been heard live in decades.

Following the massive success of the 2024 Best of All Worlds tour, which reignited a worldwide passion for the Hagar era of Van Halen, the Las Vegas residency is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about rock events of the year.

About Sammy Hagar

For over four decades, Sammy Hagar has been recognized as one of the best and most accomplished lead singers and songwriters in the rock music industry. From breaking into the industry with the seminal hard rock band Montrose, to his multi-platinum solo career, to his ride as the frontman of Van Halen, Chickenfoot and his latest best-selling supergroup, The Circle, Hagar has amassed 25 Platinum albums on sales surpassing 50 million worldwide. Along his journey, he has set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems ever written with songs like “I Can’t Drive 55,” “Right Now,” and “Why Can’t This Be Love,” and earned the highest respect of the music industry with a Grammy Award and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
