Festive Food, Drinks and Entertainment
Mijo Modern Mexican, CliQue Hospitality’s vibrant Mexican dining destination at Durango Casino & Resort, and Wax Rabbit, the intimate speakeasy hidden within its walls, will come together to celebrate Mexican Independence Day with fiery entertainment, bold flavors and spirited cocktails on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
From 4 to 10 p.m. at Mijo Modern Mexican, guests can indulge in bottomless tacos and margaritas for $36 per person, with a choice of steak, chicken, carnitas or avocado tacos, served two at a time with rice and beans in the first round. Traditional and flavored margaritas are included for guests 21 and over, with an option to upgrade the tequila for $10. While dining, the night will come alive with a DJ spinning tracks from 6 to 9 p.m., accompanied by dancers and fire performers.
Inside Wax Rabbit, two specialty cocktails crafted with Pantalones Tequila will be available for $18 each. The ¡Viva Verde! blends Pantalones Tequila Blanco with cucumber, lime juice, jalapeño, agave and fire bitters for a spicy kick, while the El Grito features Pantalones Tequila Reposado, Aperol, passion fruit, lemon juice and honey syrup for a sweet, subtle tang. From 8 p.m. to midnight, a selector will spin tracks in an all-vinyl booth to set the tone.
Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
