Frame it! Hip-hop legend Naughty by Nature celebrated the 25th release of its eponymous album on Thursday, April 28 at LAX Nightclub inside Luxor Hotel and Casino. The music trio, which led the night with “Jump Around,” was presented with a specialty cake to celebrate its monumental anniversary.
Every Thursday at LAX Nightclub, DJs spin favorite hits from the ’80s and ’90s, with several memorable Throwback performers hosting select nights throughout the year.
On Thursday, May 5, Coolio will celebrate an impressive 25 years of creating popular anthems that bring fans to their feet. The rap superstar began his “Fantastic Voyage” in 1994 with the release of his debut solo album, “It Takes a Thief.” The following year, he made music history when he recorded “Gangsta’s Paradise” for the “Dangerous Minds” soundtrack with R&B singer LV. The song was met with commercial and critical acclaim, earning Coolio the GRAMMY for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1996. With more than 5.7 million copies sold, “Gangsta’s Paradise” ranks as one of best-selling singles of all time. Coolio can be seen in the web series, “Cookin’ with Coolio.”
