Hooper Hospitality Concepts officially opens today
– El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina made quite the scene in the Mountain’s Edge area when it opened doors earlier this year. Now, the successful restaurant brings its fresh take on Mexican-American dishes to the popular corner of Stephanie and Warm Springs in Henderson. Open daily for lunch, happy hour, and dinner, El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina highlights Chef Aaron Bryan’s twists on Mexican cuisine staples thanks to his SoCal roots and his eclectic experience ranging from high-end culinary institutions to cooking with heart and soul for his friends and family.
Signature dishes diners have come to know and love include El Luchadaor’s Tableside Guacamole served with house-made tortilla chips, Elote En Plato (charred corn, pico de gallo, aioli, fresno chili, queso cotija and tajin), the crowd favorite Triple Threat Chimichanga (adobo beef, chicken or pork, pinto bean puree, cotija & jack cheese, salsa verde, cilantro creama and salsa de enchilada), and of course, a selection of tacos from Camaron Chicharron to Surf & Turf, and Carnitas Ala Mandarin. Other items include a selection of nachos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and more. All entrees are served with Luchador rice and frijoles. Multiple menu items can be made vegetarian or vegan upon request.
Like the history of a champion luchador, El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina’s spirits menu is expansive, colorful and might knock you off the ropes. Boasting more than 80 Tequilas and Mezcals, even the pickiest Tequila drinker and Mezcal aficionado will be satisfied. Craft Cocktails run from the slightly sweet Vulcana (400 Canejos Mezcal, Guava, Elderflower, Lime) to the creative Telenovela (Patron Reposado, Passion Fruit, Ginger Beer).
“We’re excited to have such a large space that will be the perfect home for more private events, sports viewing parties, and more. The bar area is huge so we expect a lot of happy hour action as well. We even have some bar-top gaming coming in early 2022,” said Hooper Hospitality Concepts owner Andy Hooper.
The walls of El Luchador are adorned with custom Luchador mask artwork that complement the restaurant’s brick walls. Seating comes in the form of booths and tables throughout the main dining area with plenty of bar-top and pub-style table seating in the bar area.
The new Henderson location boasts a capacity of 275, with an additional 50 coming early in 2022 when the restaurant will debut a brand new patio. El Luchador Henderson is open 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday – Thursday and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Guests can enjoy Happy Hour specials Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. including food and drink specials, with an additional late night happy hour from 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. and a Saturday Happy Hour from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Service Industry Night takes place every Sunday and Monday from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. featuring $10 shots of Don Julio 1942, Clase Azul Reposado and Don Fulano Imperial.
