The Buckinghams – April 5 at 8 p.m.
- This American Sunshine pop group became an overnight sensation. The group put out the wistful “Kind of a Drag,” which ending up being a million-selling pop chart-topper. Other major hits for the band include “Don’t You Care,” “Hey Baby (They’re Playing Our Song),” and the pseudo-psychedelic “Susan.” The group showed off their R&B roots on the jazz standard “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” their second-biggest hit.
The Grass Roots – April 12 at 8 p.m.
- The Grass Roots had a series of major hits, most notably “Let’s Live for Today,” “Midnight Confessions,” “Temptation Eyes,” and “Two Divided by Love” that helped define the essence of the era’s best radio. The Grass Roots managed to chart 14 Top 40 hits, including seven gold singles and one platinum single, and had two hit collections that effortlessly went gold.
Sweet – April 19 at 8 p.m.
- Legendary rock band, Sweet, shot to the top of the charts in the 1970’s with such hits as, “Ballroom Blitz,” “Fox on the Run,” “Love is Like Oxygen” and “Action.” In 1973, the band produced their first number one hit, “Blockbuster,” which went on to achieve platinum status.
Last In Line – April 26 at 8 p.m.
- Formed from the original lineup of Dio, heavy metal group Last in Line performs Dio’s hits, including “Rainbow in the Dark” and “Starmaker,” as well as their own new hard-rocking compositions.
