Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort® Las Vegas will transform into the ultimate destination to commemorate Mexican Independence Day, featuring must-see events throughout the holiday weekend. From Friday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 17, guests will revel in lively cultural performances, a traditional “El Grito” celebration with live musical sets, a gift with purchase and more. The Shoppes will host a Mexican Independence Day celebration that can’t be missed.
Kicking off the festivities, Grand Canal Shoppes will host its annual “El Grito,” a Mexican celebration of freedom in St. Mark’s Square on Friday, Sept. 15 at 11 p.m. This dynamic affair will feature a march throughout the destination with a traditional mariachi band and folkloric dancers. Adding to the remarkable event, The Shoppes will welcome the return of Eli Zamora, contestant on the Mexican and American versions of “The Voice,” for an unforgettable performance with his brother Benjamin Zamora, the master of ceremonies for the affair and local Emmy award-winning Telemundo Las Vegas anchor, commemorating the start of the holiday weekend.
Throughout September, The Shoppes will host complimentary cultural performances and photo moments for guests to enjoy. Starting Friday, Sept. 1, guests can capture Instagrammable holiday photos under the vibrant papel picado, a traditional Mexican decorative craft adorned with elaborate designs, near Smith & Wollensky throughout the month. Shoppers can also delight in live entertainment by Eli Zamora with his traditional mariachi band and authentic folkloric dancers in St. Mark’s Square, providing delightful cheer on September 16 and 17 at 4:30 p.m.
Adding to the celebration, guests can enjoy more delightful offerings during the month-long celebration with an exclusive gift with purchase and specials at select retailers. With $450 worth of same-day receipts, guests can receive a special gift with purchase including a dine and experience package, including a $50 credit for up to six guests to Flight Club Social Darts, the electrifying social gaming experience. To receive the gift with purchase, shoppers can show receipts to Guest Services, located near Michael Kors September 14 through 18 from noon to 8 p.m. Throughout September, shoppers can also indulge in exceptional specials at renowned venues within The Shoppes including Shinobi Menswear, Canonita, Ferragamo, St. Croix and UNOde50.
