LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Announces Another Record-Breaking Winner of Annual SuperContest
The LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino announced it has had another record-breaking winner of its annual ultimate pro football handicapping contest, the SuperContest.
David Frohardt-Lane, from Chicago, won $542,850 by having the best record, plus also winning a $15,000 bonus for selecting over 67% winners, making for a total first place prize amount of $557,850. Frohardt-Lane’s record for the season was 55-26-4 and his winning percentage was 67.9% (excluding ties). The Detroit native plans to donate half of his winnings to GiveWell, a nonprofit that evaluates other charities.
“We had yet another amazing year with the SuperContest,” said Jay Kornegay, Vice President of Race & Sports for the LVH. “This contest has always been popular but the last couple of years it has grown by leaps and bounds. We literally doubled the amount of contestants within the last two years.”
The SuperContest is the ultimate pro football handicapping contest in the world’s largest race & sports book, the SuperBook®. Contestants can win their share of the prize pool by paying a $1,500 entry fee prior to the start of the regular professional football season and then picking five games each week against the point spread throughout the 17-week regular season. The prize structure is based on the number of entrants and is structured so that contestants receive 100% of the prize money paid in.
This year, a record-breaking 1,034 contestants participated. The top 30 contestants were awarded cash prizes. The top five finishers and their records were as follows:
- DAVID FROHARDT-LANE 55-26-4 57 points ($557,850)
- EBN OZN 56-28-1 56.5 points ($217,140)
- BOSCO 78 54-29-2 55 ($108,570)
- BITTER BOB 53-29-3 54.5 [tie] ($73,672.50)
- BIG LIB 53-29-3 54.5 [tie] ($73,672.50)

Fans and handicappers alike are also looking forward to the 3rd Annual SuperContest Weekend in late August.
