New Year Means New Lineup for the Month of January at L.A. Comedy Club Inside the Edgewater Casino Resort

L.A. Comedy Club at Edgewater Casino Resort has announced a hysterical January lineup in the Dragon’s Edge showroom in Laughlin, Nevada. L.A. Comedy Club at Edgewater offers nightly shows at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday. James Michael’s Redneck Comedy Show headlines at 5 p.m. and touring comedy icons headline the 7 p.m. show. This month Kara with a “K” takes the stage twice on Saturday, Jan. 27 headlining both the 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows. Tickets are available for purchase here.

  • 5 p.m.: James Michael’s Redneck Comedy Show

No 5 p.m. show on Wednesday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 26 or Sunday, Jan. 28

Michael, a Mississippi native, is a part-time tattoo artist, fitness model and comedic magician. Known for his sleight of hand, comedic timing and fun antics on stage, Michael has brought laughs around the world for more than 30 years by means of cruise ships, corporate functions, and television shows. He has been named among Las Vegas’ top 10 magicians for three consecutive years and has been awarded the silver medal winner of the best magic show in Las Vegas in 2020.

Patrick Garrity started comedy at an early age and developed into a veteran of the road. His energized stories about being in the military, growing up a younger brother and why the Irish don’t trash-talk come to life through characters, impressions and real-life situations. Garrity has appeared on NBC’s and CBS’s Comedy Night School.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 24 through Sunday, Jan. 28: Kara with a “K”

Kara moved from Texas to Los Angeles to become a star. After getting married, she decided to put her whole focus into stand-up comedy and music. Her fresh comedy offers a playful look at life as a Texas girl in L.A., which has led to performing throughout the city at notable comedy clubs, including the famous Hollywood Improv. Kara later competed on Season 14 of “America’s Got Talent,” where Simon Cowell nicknamed her “the Dolly Parton of comedy” before voting her to the second round of the competition. She also once shared the stage with hair metal band Steel Panther at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood for a unforgettable performance of Guns ‘N Roses rock anthem, “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” She has also produced and starred in “The BUSTED BARBIE Comedy Show” which debuted at Lucky Strike at Hollywood and Highland. Kara continues to perform and co-produce specialty comedy shows with her husband’s company “Rebels of Comedy.”

  • Wednesday, Jan. 31: Steve “Mudflap” McGrew with Dougie Almeida

Steve “Mudflap” McGrew was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Houston, Texas. McGrew is instantaneously likable with high-energy sets and rapid-fire delivery. His “crossover” comedy style appeals to people from all walks of life, age groups and ethnic backgrounds. His material is drawn from everyday life situations and is a hybrid of character work, storytelling and one liner jabs to the funny bone. He is in high demand for comedy clubs and casino shows all around the country, and can be heard on 24/7 Comedy and on Sirius XM radio. Mudflap has released several comedy CDs. His latest, “Toxic Masculinity,” is now available on iTunes.

Dougie Almeida, a native of Queens, New York , is a retired kickboxer and former corporate presenter for one of the largest financial planning firms in the country. His specialty was taking lifeless insurance presentations and transforming them into works of comic art. Prior to taking the stage, Dougie gauges his audience, reaches into his vault and prepares his onslaught of humor .Once on stage, he delivers blow after blow of hilarity, hitting the audience with punch line after punchline, with a wit and stage presence second to none. He was recently featured on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and has been a Winner of Improv’s “New Faces of Comedy” as well as participated in various comedy festivals.
