barre3 at The District at Green Valley Ranch to Host One-Day-Only Class
to Benefit The Animal Foundation

For the first time in Las Vegas, barre3 will host “Bark and Barre.” Think goat yoga… but instead of goats, there will be lovable dogs. Instead of yoga… it will be barre.

barre3 will host this unique, canine-friendly fitness class. Participants are invited to bring their dogs to play freely and roam during class, which will take place in a fenced off area located in front of the main stage at The District at Green Valley Ranch.

barre3 is a 60-minute class combining the techniques of ballet, yoga and Pilates. This special class will be taught by barre3 Henderson Founder Jackie Edlund. No shoes are required; participants are encouraged to bring their own mats and towels.

The price per participant is $23 with proceeds benefiting The Animal Foundation.

Following the class, The Animal Foundation will have cute dogs available for adoption.

Interested guests must register here by Oct. 7. Only 25 participants will be allowed; space is extremely limited. A limited number of dogs will be allowed, so participants are encouraged to sign up their fur-friends as soon as possible. Participating dogs must be accompanied by current vaccination records.

barre3 is a boutique fitness studio located at The District at Green Valley Ranch.  Barre3 is a unique 3-step, 60-minute program that “creates the strength of an athlete with the long, lean graceful lines of a dancer.” Isometric holds serve to align and strengthen muscles, while precise movements involving a small range of motion help dig deep into the muscles for maximum toning results. The barre3 program is low impact yet involves dynamic movement that energizes the body and elevates the heart rate. barre3 benefits those looking to get in shape and those already fit but looking to break plateaus while staying motivated.

The Animal Foundation is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of all healthy and treatable animals in the Las Vegas Valley. The Animal Foundation operates the highest volume single-site animal shelter in America, saving more than 25,000 pets last year. Founded in 1978, The Animal Foundation’s lifesaving programs are designed to address the root causes of pet overpopulation and homelessness and include: adoptions; low-cost spay/neuter, microchipping and vaccination services; lost & found pets; Community Cats and more. In June 2015, The Animal Foundation announced Mission: Possible 2020, a strategic initiative to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals who come to them in need by the end of the year 2020.

With over 385,000 square feet of retail space, the District offers a unique collection of over 70 name-brand and boutique shopping, office, and dining options including The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Shake Shack and King’s Fish House. Specialty retailers include Anthropologie, Victoria’s Secret, Brighton Collectibles, Bath & Body Works, Charming Charlie, West Elm and Athleta. Toy drive will culminate with 24 hours of nonstop classes

TruFusion, a new local Las Vegas fitness boutique that offers classes including yoga, Pilates, kettle bells and TRX, is hosting a toy drive to benefit Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), an organization that helps those affected by HIV and AIDS in Southern Nevada. The last-minute rally for toys will be a “Tru Sweat-a-thon” event that features 24 hours of continuous classes such as dancefusion, black light power flow yoga and vino & vinyasa.  Visit for a complete event schedule.

Tru Sweat-a-thon will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 8 and end at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 9.

“TruFusion is grateful for the support its new fitness studio is receiving from the Southern Nevada community and is hosting the drive as a way to give back,” said Ruth Furman, director of marketing communications.

New and unused toys may be dropped off in the designated bin at TruFusion, located at 8575 S. Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas, during operating hours. Donors will receive a TruFusion 1-day pass. When a new guest redeems that pass and takes a class, TruFusion will donate $1 to AFAN.

“Passes are transferable and make great stocking stuffers,” Furman said.

When Tru Sweat-a-thon commences, the classes that are part of the event will be offered at no charge for a donation of a new and unwrapped toy or toys, or a cash donation with all proceeds going to AFAN. Throughout the course of the toy drive, when a customer purchases an annual TruFusion Yoga membership, a discounted rate will be offered with a portion of the proceeds going to AFAN.

TruFusion teams up with Summerlin Yoga to offer new hot classes

summerlin yoga

If you haven’t been to Summerlin Yoga in awhile this is the perfect time to come back or check out the former Bikram studio for the first time. The studio has partnered with TruFusion Yoga and change is in the air – literally! A new floor in the yoga room means students can breathe easy while taking one of the many new TruFusion signature classes on offer. There is a new hot yoga variation called Revitalize that will be familiar to Bikram lovers but includes more modifications and allows use of tools such as blocks and straps to ensure both beginners and longstanding practitioners can reach their full potential. There is also a few variations of a vinyasa flow class called Invigorate that provides a bit more of a challenge. On the other end of the spectrum is Tru Yin, which is a series of poses held for about 5 minutes and Yin Fused, which gives students 45 minutes of vinyasa flow followed by 45 minutes of long yin stretching.
But the studio hasn’t stopped at hot yoga, there is also the ability to cross train with more cardiovascular-intensive classes such as Tru Hot Pilates and Tru Barefoot Bootcamp, which uses kettlebells for resistance to build strength. The options for both yoga and fitness allows any student who walks in the door to create a custom program that fits their own health and wellness goals. The new classes have also come with a new staff of highly experienced teachers who each have several different yoga and fitness trainings on their resumes. With so many new classes and teachers to experience, guests might be surprised to learn that the unlimited month membership has just been reduced to $49! Getting more for less, that’s a healthy deal worth checking out! Visit or for more details or follow @TruFusionYoga on Twitter. Both studios can also be found on Facebook.
We had the opportunity to try the  Revitalize class! Our teacher Jacky was wonderful! She did not judge us but instead helped us with the poses.
This is a hot yoga class that made us move in ways we did not know we could. Our aches and pains from doing other types of workouts…. left us as the class ended. We truly enjoyed the class and everyone that works at Summerlin Yoga!!! We highly recommend this team of experts!
